Chapter 124: I Have Returned

The Mother of Corpses in the distance, having lost its master, thrashed about restlessly upon the earth. Yet, instead of charging vengefully toward Provence and the others, it began to advance slowly toward the Land of God’s Gift.

Though described as slow, this was only relative to its colossal stature; in reality, its speed was no less than that of a motor vehicle.

Kande looked toward the Land of God’s Gift and remarked, "My Infinite Corridor is not permanent. We must seize the moment. All the demons in the vicinity have been wiped out by Adonsa, and we have no idea what other contingency plans that monster might have left behind. Confronting it directly is ill-advised; the human mission has reached a dead end."

However, there was not the slightest hint of dejection in his tone; rather, it carried a trace of excitement.

"Initiate... the backup plan."

Adonsa gazed at the countless identical versions of itself surrounding it, lost in thought.

This was a closed space of infinite loops; no matter which direction one traveled, one would inevitably return to the starting point. Even light was subject to this. Much like two mirrors facing one another, light cycled back and forth, creating layered, endless reflections—the source of the illusory legion of Adonsas.

Adonsa’s infinite descent was also constantly accelerating. Had it not been for the friction of the surrounding air, given enough time, it might truly have reached sub-light speeds.

"A Klein bottle? How troublesome."

"No, not troublesome at all."

Two conflicting thoughts emerged simultaneously. Adonsa sensed something amiss, but this was not the time to dwell on such matters. It felt the gale-force winds whipped up by its own descent.

Descent? Why was it falling?

Because gravity is a fundamental force that transcends time and space, governing a universe so vast that the concept loses all meaning. If gravity is merely a phenomenon of mass sinking into space, could gravity, in turn, influence space?

The answer was affirmative.

Adonsa extracted the fusion battery sealed within its body. Inside this basketball-sized source of immense power, the interrupted nuclear fusion reaction reached its peak in an instant, breaking free from the constraints of the magnetic field. Deuterium particles fused frantically into helium, neutrons, energy, and other decay products.

This tiny orb reproduced a glimpse of the sun’s radiance—less than one quadrillionth of its true intensity—but for a creature at the center of it, it was no different from the sun itself. The temperature, soaring into the millions of degrees, was enough to annihilate all existing matter.

The explosion was even more terrifying within this cramped, enclosed space. Infinite shockwaves and thermal energy stacked upon one another, instantly churning all air and matter into a boiling soup of particles. Even Adonsa’s body could only struggle to endure such power, being continuously scoured and stripped away in the turbulent plasma, revealing grey-red muscle, viscera, and bone.

Instead of reinforcing its defenses, Adonsa dropped them entirely, opening its arms as if to embrace the miniature sun.

Then, Adonsa was torn to shreds.

Its sturdy nanomaterials were dried and pulverized inch by inch in the plasma storm, scattered by the turbulence. Adonsa had vanished without a trace.

If nothing else happened, the plasma storm would slowly subside after three hours, but the heat trapped here would never dissipate. It would keep the entropy of this space at a perpetually high level, forming a realm approaching heat death.

But in the next second, a pitch-black hole, devoid of even a glimmer of light, appeared abruptly in the void. A terrifying gravitational pull radiated from the black hole at the speed of light, instantly capturing all the rampaging, scattered particles.

Before this gravitational web, there were no exceptions. The plasma storm was instantly contorted and deformed, drawn irresistibly into the black hole like a dragon drinking water. The black hole accepted all that came its way—neither expanding nor contracting, it acted like a simple drain, absorbing the entirety of this vast and violent energy.

In a mere few seconds, this small space transitioned from emptiness to fury, from blinding brilliance to dark silence. The heat capable of vaporizing all matter was carried away along with the matter itself, leaving behind a complete vacuum.

There were no particles, no radiation—only dense gravitational lines growing thicker and thicker. Finally, the smooth, dimensionless surface of the black hole bulged like a fetal membrane, forming a hand-like shape that groped awkwardly before breaking through the thin, ethereal film.

Grey-red matter surged out, instantly filling the empty Klein bottle. Yet it continued to gush, overflowing until the bottle was packed tight, leaving not a single gap.

From within the black hole came a low, rumbling roar that seemed to originate from a distant horizon. The gravitational lines pulsed like harp strings before crashing against everything like a raging tide.

The essence of gravity is the warping of spacetime. Now, this space—already forcibly bent and closed—was being battered by a terrifying gravitational tide, its already fragile structure becoming increasingly unstable.

As the gravitational tide reached a critical point, the Klein bottle was finally and ruthlessly shattered.

On the barren, grey-white earth, a small black dot suddenly appeared. In that instant, spacetime surged forth like water from a burst dam, the miniature vortex sweeping up everything in the vicinity.

The small black dot expanded continuously, its ripples of light flowing like a spiral. This was the light leaking from the collision of spacetime structures, pulverizing everything unfortunate enough to be caught within, vanishing into the gaps between dimensions.

Before this titanic power of spacetime, no matter could survive. Space trembled like a spring; had a ruler managed to survive the turbulence, it would have been stretching and contracting so rapidly that it could no longer serve its basic purpose of measurement.

The entire spatial structure tottered on the brink of collapse. Once the spacetime turbulence was fully unleashed, before it could stabilize again, a spherical region with a radius of hundreds of kilometers would likely be reduced to nothingness. Even now, only the most immense mass could bridge such a breach.

The next moment, infinite grey-red flesh replaced the vortex of spacetime. The massive weight and gravity instantly smoothed out the nascent turbulence caused by the collapse of the Klein bottle, instead stabilizing into an eerie gateway leading to a completely unknown space.

The black hole lurched violently, as if another Big Bang had occurred. A near-infinite torrent of grey-red flesh surged and sprayed from the black hole at terrifying speeds, fusing, recombining, and splitting, instantly transforming into an apocalyptic behemoth whose very stance caused the earth to sink!

This behemoth was, without a doubt, Adonsa, its body—or a portion of it—now unshackled.

By using the explosion of the fusion battery to destroy its current physical form, Adonsa had successfully exhausted the power of the "sloth" seal, allowing a portion of its true self to finally emerge for a breath of air.

However, to fully break the seal, the explosion of a single fusion battery was far from enough. As the true form trapped within the sealed space was released, all the suppressed physical phenomena were restored as well. The immense gravity leaked from the exit of the sealed space, tearing the twisted spacetime of the Klein bottle wide open.

It was like an impossible knot; Adonsa had seized both ends of the string, snapped it, and allowed the string of spacetime to mend itself through its own self-repair capabilities. Such a brutal method of decryption naturally caused violent tremors in the string of spacetime, wreaking massive destruction on the surroundings, which was then simply smoothed over by the sheer force of gravity.

This was Adonsa’s method of resolving the situation: simple, direct, brutal, and overwhelmingly dominant.

Adonsa, the Doomsday Calamity, had descended once more!

Every ounce of consciousness hidden within that massive frame roared incessantly. With every step that shook the earth to its foundations, it charged toward the Land of God’s Gift.

In the smoke-filled Land of God’s Gift, Provence, standing amidst the ruins, turned pale. She spat out a mouthful of crimson blood, staring into the distance in shock: "How is it possible? This monster... it can even tear through space with brute force!?"
