Chapter 172: The Prophecy
"Since you already know my name, what should I call you?" Ye Tian lowered his head to look at the girl shrinking inside the cloak. "Don't bother trying to run; you're fast, but I'm faster."
"It's Hermione. Hermione Trasm," the girl said. "Why are you playing ghosts and spirits? We should have met before." Ye Tian continued to question. "Because I saw a prophecy, a prophecy of destruction!" Hermione stared at Ye Tian and said.
"Is that so? Then let's find an empty place to talk." Ye Tian asked. "You can follow me." Hermione didn't seem afraid as she led Ye Tian through several turns and into a small cabin. "Where is this?" Ye Tian asked curiously, looking at the secluded hut.
"This is my home," Hermione said. "Would you like something to drink?" "Anything, but no coffee." Ye Tian quickly replied, then casually tossed his belongings to one side and comfortably sat down in a nearby chair.
"Please enjoy." Hermione placed a cup of fragrant green tea in front of Ye Tian. "Smells good." Ye Tian picked it up and sniffed it. "Is it poisoned?" Hermione was startled, then grew angry: "Why would I poison you?"
"Who knows? Maybe you took one look at my handsome face and wanted to drug me so you could do wicked things." Ye Tian took a sip of the green tea and said. Pffft! Hermione spat out a mouthful of green tea, which Ye Tian easily dodged, having been prepared.
"Humans are so narcissistic!" Hermione angrily put down the teacup. "I was just reminding you to be honest!" With that, he took another sip of the green tea. "Pretty good."
"Then drink more." Hermione proceeded to pour Ye Tian another cup. "Tell me, what did you see?" Ye Tian crossed his legs and asked. "I am a diviner." Hermione pouted, and Ye Tian noticed a round ball covered with a white cloth in the corner.
"Oh." Ye Tian cupped his chin and waited for her to continue. Hermione sighed and said, "We've known for a long time that you were coming to the Elven City, and we've already informed Her Majesty the Queen."
"No wonder." Ye Tian straightened up. "You're not surprised at all?" Hermione frowned. "Surprised? I started being surprised a very, very long time ago." Ye Tian smiled. "By now, there's nothing left that can surprise me."
"Really? Well, that's a nice skill to have." Hermione sneered. "Thank you." Ye Tian said shamelessly. "You're so thick-skinned! Are all humans this thick-skinned?" Hermione said bitterly.
"Pretty much. Legend has it that someone once used their thick skin to survive a fatal blow." Ye Tian said casually. "Hmph!" Hermione let out a cold snort and turned her head away. "Tell me about that prophecy." Ye Tian demanded.
"I don't know much. First, the Destroyer will bring devastating disaster to the Elven race." Hermione said in a deep voice. "At the same time, as the Creator, you will bring supreme glory to our Elven race."
"So you were considering whether or not to kill me?" Ye Tian asked. "What nonsense are you talking about!" Hermione said angrily. "Why would I kill you? We elves are a peace-loving race!"
"Bullshit!" Ye Tian whispered. "You tied Taya to the ancient tree of wisdom and let it feed on her life force—is that something a peace-loving race would do? And those people you sent to capture Taya who injured my companion, purposefully breaking Rolora's leg and almost leaving a young girl permanently disabled—is that also the kind of thing a peace-loving race enjoys doing?"
"There's a reason for that!" Hermione said anxiously. "What reason?" Ye Tian asked. "The ancient tree of wisdom has been asleep for thousands of years because of a lack of its own life force. All species have life limits; only gods are the exception."
"Taya and the others volunteered to feed the ancient tree and sacrifice themselves to atone for sins," Hermione said. "Is that so? I once met a cult leader who demanded that all women serve him, otherwise they were traitors and the end result would be death. Those girls also supposedly volunteered. Do you think that's acceptable?" Ye Tian said angrily.
"Of course not." Hermione immediately shouted. "I agree that it's not." Ye Tian hummed. "Hmph, that's different." Hermione said. "It's the same. In my eyes, all lives are equally precious." Ye Tian said.
"Let's not talk about Taya. What about my companion? Rolora, a young girl, had her leg broken clean off. Is that something an elf should do?" Ye Tian said angrily. "It was because your companion blocked our path."
"Fine, when I go back, I'll slaughter that pig. Who told him to provoke me for no reason?" Ye Tian said darkly. "This person is truly unreasonable!" Hermione shouted angrily. "What..." Ye Tian stood up, swayed a little, and collapsed onto the ground with a thud.
"It finally worked." Hermione breathed a sigh of relief. "Don't blame me." Hermione sighed, walked forward, and tugged at Ye Tian, trying to drag him to the side, but Ye Tian's body was as heavy as a dead pig, and no matter how hard Hermione pulled, she couldn't move him.
"This pig is ridiculously heavy!" In the end, Hermione gave up on that idea, moved the tables and chairs out of the way, calculated the distance, nodded, and began using tools to draw a magical array on the floor.
Before long, a complex magical array appeared beneath Ye Tian. As soon as the magical array was drawn, visible magic symbols emerged in the surrounding air. "Don't blame me, all of this is for the Elven race!" Hermione sighed, then placed several items around Ye Tian.
Removing her outer robe, Hermione revealed a pristine white mage's robe. Hermione knelt on the ground first, bowing deeply toward the direction of the ancient tree, and then sat cross-legged facing Ye Tian. She closed her eyes and began chanting obscure, ancient Elven words.
The air in the room gradually grew quiet. Suddenly, the scene shifted as if they were standing in a vast grassland, and the starry night sky appeared on the ceiling, enveloping the magical array around Ye Tian. Hermione chanted her spell incessantly, and the magical array beneath Ye Tian gradually lit up, illuminating the entire room brilliantly!
Hermione's expression grew increasingly grave; with every word of the spell she chanted, sweat slid down her face. The magic elements in the room grew thicker and thicker, and the air seemed to become somewhat viscous. Fortunately, spells had already been cast around the area; even if a ruckus was raised inside, there wouldn't be much sensation outside, allowing Hermione to cast her spell in peace.
"Supreme Goddess of the Moon, please bestow the power of moonlight to sever the chaos of troubled times!" Hermione shouted loudly. A silver thread suddenly descended from the starry sky, instantly crashing into the magical array on the ground.
Bang! The room shook several times from the immense impact, and the objects inside were blown away, throwing the room into complete disarray. "Cough, cough... It worked." Hermione collapsed onto the floor, too exhausted to even move.
"Oh, the spell worked, but unfortunately, you missed." Suddenly, an annoying voice sounded right by her ear. Hermione was startled, snapped her head up, and happened to catch sight of a pair of angry eyes. "I told you not to tell me your elves love peace—it's all lies!"
"Why are you fine?!" Hermione cried out in shock. "Because the spell missed. I left the magical array the moment you started casting. Facts have proven that my choice was correct." Ye Tian smiled darkly.
"How is that possible!" Hermione shouted in astonishment. "I clearly saw you faint!" "That was an act. In truth, I didn't drink that cup of tea. Don't think your actions were covert; I knew all along. I just played along with your clever little scheme."
"...'" Hermione collapsed instantly. Despite all her careful scheming, it had all fallen through at the final hurdle. It seemed Heaven did not bless the Elven race! "Let me ask you a question: was everything you did authorized by the Elven Queen?" Ye Tian asked with a chilling face.
"No, it was my own wish." Hermione sighed. "Is that so?" "Yes." Before Hermione could finish speaking, she was abruptly yanked up into the air.
"You really are as light as a straw... yet even this straw likes to kill." Ye Tian sighed. "I didn't want to kill you!" Hermione said anxiously. "Then what was the purpose of what you did?" Ye Tian said angrily.
"I only severed the thread of fate." Hermione whispered. "Sever the thread of fate? What happens then? Do I become an idiot?" Ye Tian shouted angrily. "No, you simply wouldn't be the Destroyer anymore. That way, the Elven race can escape this catastrophe!" Hermione said.
"Is that so? Then what a truly noble sacrifice—sacrificing one person to fulfill your entire Elven race. Truly noble indeed!" Ye Tian hoisted Hermione up and casually tossed her onto the bed. "Alright, small talk is over. Now you need to talk, or else..." Ye Tian reached out and stroked Hermione's cheek. "Actually, you're still quite pretty."
"What do you want to do?" Hermione asked in terror, twisting her body. But after casting such a massive spell, Hermione's strength was completely depleted. Seeing Ye Tian's mischievous hands caressing her face, Hermione was terrified yet utterly helpless.
"Please, spare me," Hermione pleaded. "I can, provided you tell the truth." Ye Tian reached out, grabbed Hermione's breasts, and began to gently knead them. "No, please don't!" Hermione's body trembled as she began to beg for mercy.
"Did the Queen know about what you were doing?" Ye Tian asked. "She doesn't know," Hermione said anxiously. "You really don't know?" Ye Tian released his grip. "I only told Her Majesty the Queen that humans would be coming; I didn't say anything else." "Is that so? Then all of this was entirely your own idea?" Ye Tian flicked Hermione's forehead with his finger; she let out a muffled groan, and a blush appeared on her pale face.
"Yes, it was my own idea." "Why?" "Because I was afraid." Hermione begged, "Please, please take your hand out. I know I was wrong, and I'm willing to pay the price for it."
"Does that mean you're willing to pay with your body?" Ye Tian grabbed her breasts again and gave them a forceful squeeze. "No, no, please take your hand out." Hermione said. "Keep answering my questions. If I'm satisfied, I'll consider letting you go." Ye Tian pulled his hand out. "But if you dare lie to me, I don't mind having my way with you." Ye Tian reached back in and flicked that adorable cherry bud with his finger.
"I won't." Hermione's expression changed from the pain. "You must tell the truth." "What would happen if the spell succeeded?" Ye Tian withdrew his hand and began gently unbuttoning Hermione's robe. "There wouldn't be any changes." Hermione hurried to say.
"Really?" "Really! It's just that the Elven race would escape a disaster, and fate would be slightly altered." "Are you really that afraid?" Ye Tian stopped his hands and asked. "According to the prophecy, the Elven City will be destroyed because of you, so I am terrified!" Hermione said anxiously.
"I only came to see a friend, and I might not even come back in the future. How could I possibly have the ability to destroy the Elven City?" Ye Tian said glumly. "I don't know either. I just performed divination according to ancient methods, and the result of the divination was that the Elven City would be destroyed."
"Once a prophecy is known, it loses its meaning." Ye Tian released his hands. "It's very noble for the Elven race, but for me, it's very annoying."
"I'm sorry, but for the Elven race, I had to do this. This is my mission." Hermione said. "Hmph, disgusting!" Ye Tian reached out and unbuttoned Hermione's mage robe completely. The latter closed her eyes.
"I know you're very angry. If possible, I'm willing to make compensation. Please, don't humiliate me, okay?" Tears streamed down the corners of Hermione's eyes. "Sorry, I have no interest in a flat-chested girl like you." With that, Ye Tian lifted the hem of her robe and took out his golden needles.
"Here, here." Ye Tian carefully stroked Hermione's snow-white skin. An elf's entire body was as white as snowflakes; he really didn't know how such a body was born. Perhaps because they didn't eat meat, the elven girl's physique appeared quite slender without any excess fat.
"Nice figure." Ye Tian muttered, casually thrusting a needle down, then patting her skin a few times to confirm before inserting a few more. Hermione kept her eyes closed, quietly waiting for Ye Tian to violate her. Who would have thought that after a long time, Ye Tian was simply poking and prodding her body. Feeling his actions, Hermione quietly breathed a sigh of relief and opened her eyes a fraction.
"What are you doing?!" Seeing a dozen golden needles stuck all over her body, Hermione was startled and hurriedly asked. "Acupuncture. Don't move around; if it hurts, just remember to yell." Ye Tian finished speaking and inserted a few more needles.
"Can this make me recover faster?" Hermione asked quietly. "That's right. Right now, your internal energy is almost completely gone; otherwise, I'd just transfer my qi directly and save myself all this trouble." Ye Tian continued inserting golden needles. "Your elven body structure is pretty much the same as us humans, otherwise this would be a real pain."
"Don't you hate me?" Hermione asked in a low voice. "I hate you, but that's not a reason to kill someone." Ye Tian gently flicked a golden needle. "In my eyes, life is the most precious thing, and no one can casually strip it away."
"You really are a weirdo!" Hermione whispered. Ye Tian's expression instantly shifted; he reached out and gave the tip of Hermione's breast a hard twist. "Weird? Just how the hell am I weird!"
