Thinking back to how she was carried by Li Mingye last time, Zhang Xiluo decided to walk on her own.

Once she got into the car, Zhang Xiluo busied herself with her phone.

Zhou Yao sent a message: “Sis, I just saw my phone.”

“How’s your hand?”

“I’ve applied ointment, thank you for caring, Sis. I’ll rest now, good night.”

Zhang Xiluo replied good night, then set her phone aside.

Li’s mother was still around, issuing a strict command that Li Mingye bring Zhang Xiluo back. She asked Zhang Xiluo a few questions out of concern, then urged them to head to their room and rest.

Li Mingye placed his phone on the nightstand to charge, then headed for the bathroom.

Suddenly, his phone rang, displaying Zhou Yao’s profile picture. Zhang Xiluo grew curious and leaned closer for a look.

“Please don’t tell Sis about us, I don’t want to be…”

Zhang Xiluo couldn’t unlock the phone, so that was all she managed to see.

“What are you doing!” Li Mingye was suddenly behind her, brows furrowed, his cold eyes fixed on her.

“When did you start getting involved with my piano teacher, Li Mingye?”

“Zhang Xiluo, can you make your words any nastier?” Li Mingye’s face darkened, a fierce glint in his eyes.

His favoritism and partiality were all too obvious.

“Li Mingye, let’s get a divorce. She doesn’t want to be the other woman.” Relying on her intuition, Zhang Xiluo guessed the rest of Zhou Yao’s message. “She doesn’t want to be the mistress, so I’ll step aside. Don’t think about my shares, and I won’t touch your family’s assets. How about it?”

“You sure know how to negotiate,” Li Mingye sneered. “Give up your shares for her? Do you really think she’s worth it?”

Is she not worth it?

He had already given up shares in the Li Group just to divorce her—a fortune far greater than the small amount she held.

Li Mingye had yet to realize how deeply he would come to love Zhou Yao in the future.

Forget it, let’s wait a little longer.

Zhang Xiluo sighed and went to the bathroom.

After her shower, she saw Li Mingye sitting on the sofa, playing with his phone. His legs crossed, stray strands of hair falling naturally over his forehead, the curve of his lips forming a graceful arc—so handsome it was breathtaking.

He was probably chatting with Zhou Yao, apparently having soothed her already.

Tonight, Zhang Xiluo didn’t feel like sleeping on the sofa. She dropped onto the bed, drifting off in a haze, when suddenly the mattress dipped behind her—Li Mingye had slipped into the covers.

“Your turn to sleep on the sofa,” Zhang Xiluo said, her back to him, tugging the blanket to wrap herself up completely.

“The blanket and the bed belong half to me,” Li Mingye retorted, pulling the covers back.

“Can’t you show a bit of courtesy, being a man?”

“Men should just be bullied? Relax, even if you were stark naked, I wouldn’t be interested.”

Zhang Xiluo realized she never won their fights—and felt deeply wounded!

She tugged the blanket again and ignored him.

Just then, her phone rang. Zhang Xiluo answered and heard Lin Yiming pleading for help.

“Sis, something’s happened at the shop…”

“Slow down, what happened?” Zhang Xiluo got up from bed. Lin Yiming mumbled indistinctly, as if his mouth was stuffed with something.

“A few people barged in, said, said they want to…” Before he could finish, the call was cut off.

Zhang Xiluo hurriedly changed and headed out. Li Mingye watched her and spoke in a low voice, “Zhang Xiluo, are you looking for trouble? My mother’s here and you still dare to sneak out at night!”

Zhang Xiluo glanced at him—was he jealous that she couldn’t go out and fool around? She replied irritably, “Want to come along? I’ll go meet a wild lover, you can go find your little sweetheart. We won’t interfere with each other, and cover for one another!”

“Get out!”
