"Could it be Han Yuchao again?" The mere thought of that man gave Zhang Xiluo a headache. He was the type who loved to stir up trouble, intentionally provoking Li Mingye and Ouyang Chen.

No matter how long he had been obsessed with her, she would never develop feelings for him. A lack of affection was simply that—a lack of affection; she could not force herself. She hadn't realized it before, but even knowing it now, her attitude toward Han Yuchao would not change. In a sense, she was much like Li Mingye had been back then.

"Of course it's not him. I heard he was even trying to egg you on, so I blocked him immediately." Jiang Xueting, who knew everything, immediately stood in solidarity with her. "It's a rising newcomer, super cute and handsome—a classic 'puppy-dog' type boyfriend. You’ll definitely be charmed when you see him."

"Trust me, you're in for a pleasant surprise."

As soon as Jiang Xueting finished speaking, a servant led a young man inside. He was wearing a white high-neck, coarse-knit sweater and wide-leg trousers. His hair was short with a slight wave, dyed an understated ash-white. His face was clean and fair, and his eyes were larger than most women's. When he smiled, a small canine tooth peeked out.

He truly was a pleasant surprise for Zhang Xiluo; he was so handsome that he was prettier than most girls.

"Zhao Qinwei, come on in." Jiang Xueting nudged Zhang Xiluo with her elbow, raised her eyebrows suggestively, and gestured for Zhao Qinwei to sit beside her.

"Sister Ting, I'm here. This is a gift I brought for the baby, and this is for you." Zhao Qinwei pulled out items as if presenting treasures, lining them up one by one on the coffee table. He then took out a string of crystal beads and held them out to Zhang Xiluo. "This is for you, beautiful sister."

Zhao Qinwei was not only handsome but also had a pleasant voice—not effeminate, but with a touch of soft charm amidst his masculinity. It was a comforting presence. Zhang Xiluo smiled, took the beads, and put them on.

"This needs to be worn on the right wrist to attract true love," Zhao Qinwei said, helping her move the beads to her other wrist.

Zhang Xiluo was speechless. He had specifically prepared this for her to attract romance. She glanced at Jiang Xueting, who pretended not to notice and called Xu Xinyi over.

"Here, this is for you, for all your wishes to come true," Jiang Xueting said, handing a purple string of beads to Xu Xinyi. "Little Zhao prayed for these sincerely; they’re bound to work."

"When did you become so superstitious? Dinner is ready; let’s eat and talk later."

Xu Xinyi looked at the beads on her wrist and a faint smile appeared on her lips.

Li Linhao was the chef, and with Xu Xinyi assisting, the meal was delicious and aromatic.

"Wife, you can eat this, but not that." Zhao Chengwei studied each dish, placing the safe ones in front of Jiang Xueting. "Eat more of this; it’ll help you recover faster."

Jiang Xueting beamed, not stinting on her praise for Zhao Chengwei. "The greatest happiness in my life is having Xinyi and Luoluo, and my greatest blessing is marrying Zhao Chengwei. Come, let’s have a toast to our happiness!"

Xu Xinyi looked at Li Linhao with eyes full of love, and he smiled back.

Zhang Xiluo kept her head down, eating, when Zhao Qinwei placed a piece of lean meat in front of her. "Beautiful sister, eat more lean meat; it's good for your health."

Zhang Xiluo nearly choked. He was treating her like a child, and at her age, being handled this way made her flush with embarrassment, wishing she could hide inside her bowl.

Jiang Xueting gave Zhao Qinwei a thumbs-up and winked at Zhang Xiluo. "You have to listen to your younger brother; eat your food and have more meat."

"Just eat your dinner," Zhang Xiluo said, stuffing a piece of meat into Jiang Xueting’s mouth. That woman never knew when to quit. She was already annoyed enough with the man beside her, and now she’d been saddled with this little puppy dog. She couldn't handle it!

"When you're finished, get out. Don't linger at my place; I need to take a nap and look after the baby." Jiang Xueting looked at Zhang Xiluo suggestively. "Little Zhao, I’m leaving Luoluo in your care. Take her out to experience some youthful energy and make sure she gets home safely."

"Don't worry, Sister Ting. Mission accepted."

As soon as dinner ended, Jiang Xueting shooed them out. Xu Xinyi and Li Linhao left in one car, leaving Zhang Xiluo and Zhao Qinwei behind.

"Beautiful sister, did you drive here?" Zhao Qinwei stood in front of her with a radiant smile.

Zhang Xiluo shook her head. "I'll just take a taxi. Goodbye."

"Don't do that, beautiful sister. I'm on a mission! It's great that you didn't drive—come with me." Zhao Qinwei offered his hand with a gentlemanly gesture, inviting her into his sports car.

He was about the same age as Lin Yiming, yet he felt much younger; environment and mindset truly influenced one's character and appearance. Zhao Qinwei drove a flashy red supercar worth over two million. He opened the door for Zhang Xiluo, fastened her seatbelt, and then climbed into the driver's seat.

"Does beautiful sister have plans for the afternoon? Want to go listen to some rock music?" Zhao Qinwei glanced at his watch. "The timing is perfect; come along."

"No, thank you. Just drop me off at the roadside, and I'll catch a taxi." Zhang Xiluo had no interest in rock music.

"But..." Zhao Qinwei began, but Zhang Xiluo’s phone rang.

She looked at the unknown number and hesitated for a few seconds before answering.

"Is this Miss Zhang Xiluo?"

"Yes, it is. Who is this?"

"I am Ouyang Chen’s mother. Is now a convenient time to talk?"

Hearing who it was, Zhang Xiluo was surprised. She looked around and signaled for Zhao Qinwei to start driving.

"Is there something you need, ma'am? It's not very convenient for me right now, perhaps..."

Before she could finish, Ouyang Chen's mother interrupted. "If it's inconvenient, just listen."

"I know you're not a bad person; after all, you were once a daughter-in-law of the Li family. We know all about your history with Li Mingye. Chen’er and Li Mingye grew up together; there shouldn't be a rift between them because of you. I don't know what you're thinking, coming after our Chen’er after your divorce."

"I truly wonder what kind of upbringing you had, that your parents would allow you to do such messy things. Don't blame me for being blunt, but under no circumstances will I allow you to be with Chen’er."

"Rest assured, ma'am. Even if you hadn't called, I wouldn't be with him anyway." Zhang Xiluo suppressed her anger; they could say whatever they wanted about her, but she would not allow them to disparage her parents. "If you're worried, you should go talk to Ouyang Chen instead."

"We move in the same circles; there's no need to make things too awkward. I've said what I needed to say—take care of yourself." With that, Ouyang Chen's mother hung up. Zhang Xiluo clutched her phone, her expression darkening.

"Beautiful sister? Where do you live?" Zhao Qinwei asked cautiously.

"Let's go listen to that rock music."
