Chapter Six: Words Contradict the Heart
Jiang Yingnan looked Du Zhiyue up and down, the corner of his lips curling ever so slightly—a mocking arc, sharp and cold.
“So eager to sleep with me, are you?”
Du Zhiyue’s fingers curled subtly at her side. She wanted nothing more than to slap Jiang Yingnan and tell him that only a fool would want to sleep with him. His skills might be decent, but certainly not good enough for her to enjoy it; on the contrary, she still felt uncomfortable.
But recalling what Number 39 had said, the discomfort in her heart quickly faded, replaced by a flirtatious smile. “Yes! I really want to.”
Jiang Yingnan sneered, the disdain in his eyes growing even stronger.
Du Zhiyue saw it clearly, and it made her feel utterly uneasy. But now was not the time for petty grievances. Until she got the photo, Jiang Yingnan was her master, and she needed to appease him.
Her smile rippled across her face as she deliberately drew out her words, “Does the Second Young Master want to?”
Jiang Yingnan gave her a cold glance, said nothing, and turned to get in the car.
Cold and aloof as ever.
Du Zhiyue’s lips curved in a faint smirk at the sight, muttering under her breath, “Quite the act.”
That last glance from Jiang Yingnan had landed squarely on her neckline; Du Zhiyue had caught it perfectly.
This man was truly all contradiction—saying one thing, feeling another.
He played the part of the lofty, icy gentleman, but inside, he was more restless than anyone.
With this realization, Du Zhiyue felt much lighter, humming a cheerful tune as she got into Jiang Yingnan’s car.
He heard the door open, glanced at her—just a fleeting look, yet laden with meaning.
It was both an inspection and an inquiry, a silent scrutiny that betrayed nothing.
Du Zhiyue instinctively wiped the smile from her face, sitting up straight, eyes fixed ahead.
Her earnest expression was like a student stiffening as the teacher passed by their desk.
Jiang Yingnan saw it, and his somber face relaxed a little, the corner of his lips almost stirring.
After a moment of silence, Du Zhiyue stole a glance at him, noticing his lips were slightly upturned, and finally let herself relax.
He really was a tightly wound flirt.
Jiang Yingnan started the car, eyes straight ahead, asking, “Where to?”
“Hm?” Du Zhiyue reacted, as if suddenly remembering something, her face paling slightly.
Yesterday had been her first time. Although Jiang Yingnan’s skills were… adequate, she still felt uncomfortable.
If they went for another round now…
She almost wanted to cry.
Besides, even after doing such things, Jiang Yingnan might not let her take the photo.
He caught every expression on her face, crystal clear.
All he wanted was to know where she was headed, so he could drive her. He hadn’t expected her mind to wander.
But he didn’t bother to explain, letting her stew in her own confusion.
Du Zhiyue glanced at him instinctively, immediately realizing she was being toyed with.
She was furious, but dared not provoke him, forcing herself to swallow her anger.
Her face flushed red, then pale, and finally a shade of green, before settling into calm after half a minute.
She exhaled, “Can’t you tell, Young Master Jiang?” Turning, she met his gaze head-on. “I want to seduce you.”
Jiang Yingnan was sharp. Rather than hide her intentions, it was better to state them outright.
He paused, then looked at her, half-smiling, “I really hadn’t noticed.”
Du Zhiyue had dated Tao Ranming for six years. Their relationship had always been good.
Even if she’d caught Tao Ranming cheating herself, she wouldn’t run off to seduce another man so quickly.
This woman had an agenda.
Du Zhiyue paused, but quickly smiled. “It’s not too late for you to know now,” she said, her eyes shining as she looked at Jiang Yingnan. “Second Young Master, I like you.”
