Chapter 75: The Tokyo Annihilation Crisis
“This filthy and decaying world ought to be destroyed!”
“I will create it anew—a brand new world!”
With that came another burst of mad laughter...
The sound was both eerie and effeminate, its tone dripping with a sinister mockery.
What mattered most was that this unsettling voice came from the newly appeared villainous giant!
“What the hell!”
“This is beyond reason!”
“What on earth is happening...”
...
Many civilians countered in panic, their fear mingled with confusion—could giants, too, be divided into good and evil?
The black giant, the silver giant, and the original Ultraman Tiga clearly stood on the side of justice.
But the two mysterious giants who had appeared later were unmistakably villains!
“Who is this guy anyway...”
Ryusei Yue was completely baffled—was this another member of TPC?
He pulled out the Dark Divine Light Rod from his coat, but its sheen was dim, exuding a withered aura. Camilla within was also unresponsive.
“It seems I can't transform for now,” Ryusei mused inwardly.
Daigu, standing nearby, found himself in the same predicament.
On the uneven, battered ground, the two stood amidst the ruins of collapsed buildings, watching as Keigo Masaki fought desperately against the newly emerged villainous giant.
Waves of energy flashed across the battlefield, destructive lasers soared through the air, and clouds of smoke billowed skyward.
For a time, the battleground was shrouded in smog, occasionally illuminated by strange bursts of color.
The villainous giant seemed to possess inexhaustible energy—from the very start of his battle with Masaki, he had unleashed a relentless barrage of energy attacks!
Yet the timer on his chest remained a robust, glowing blue!
“Does this guy have unlimited energy or what!”
Ryusei punched the hard debris of a nearby collapsed building in frustration, leaving faint traces of blood on the rubble.
As the seconds ticked by, Masaki’s strength and energy steadily waned, while the villainous giant remained at his peak, his power undiminished.
“Boom—!”
A thunderous explosion erupted, and Masaki’s silver form was instantly engulfed in sparks, crackling violently as a dense column of smoke shot into the sky.
When the smoke finally cleared, Masaki’s massive body lay sprawled across the ground, his form gradually fading into a ghostly blur...
The last shred of hope for humanity... had fallen.
“Masaki!”
Ryusei shouted, his voice thick with worry as he rushed to Masaki’s unconscious, battered body lying not far away.
“Wake up, Masaki!”
Masaki’s body was crisscrossed with wounds, his clothing in tatters and stained with blood.
Fortunately, Masaki had collapsed in a secluded spot, surrounded by debris from fallen buildings, hidden from prying eyes.
Ryusei swiftly lifted the unconscious, wounded Masaki onto his back, signaling to Daigu in the distance. Daigu understood at once and hurried over.
“What now?”
Ryusei and Daigu asked each other almost simultaneously.
Both fell silent for a moment, then shared a bitter smile.
Ryusei glanced at the giant still rampaging in the distance and sighed. “Let’s get Masaki to the hospital first...”
...
“Director! We’ve detected an abnormal energy signature in the TPC Bio-Research Institute!”
In the TPC control room, Hui Juujian stared at the readings before her, her face grave.
“Take a team there immediately!”
Director Zejing ordered, his brow furrowed—the ever-increasing number of giants had deeply unsettled him.
———
At the TPC Bio-Research Institute, the sealed security doors were blown open by advanced weaponry. Hui Juujian led a squad of heavily armed police officers, charging in with commanding presence!
“Don’t move!”
Led by Hui, every member raised their weapons in unison, bullets chambered, the deep, cold barrels aimed unwaveringly at the man seated with his back to them—laughing ceaselessly.
That laughter, chilling and derisive, was identical to the villainous giant’s in Tokyo!
The man in the wheeled chair gave a slight push, turning lazily to face them.
“Welcome, everyone, to my laboratory!”
His voice rose and fell theatrically; a greasy, twisted grin distorted his face.
“Dr. Tango...?”
Hui gasped, her slender brows arching in surprise. Dr. Tango had always seemed a silent, timid man, but the figure before her was a complete stranger.
“You fools—what do you think you’re going to do to me?”
Dr. Tango sat with arms crossed, utterly unafraid.
“Are you... controlling that giant?”
Hui ventured, the notion of a human controlling a giant even more shocking than a human becoming one.
“Heh heh heh... that’s right!”
Dr. Tango dropped his arms and stood up. “The latest giant in Tokyo is entirely under my conscious control!”
He smoothed his collar with an air of arrogance, then sharply pointed his right hand at Hui, continuing, “So don’t even think about trying anything. If I die, the giant will go berserk and become completely unrestrained!”
His face twisted into a more fearsome grimace. “When that happens, Tokyo won’t be the only city to suffer!”
“Then please, have the giant cease its destruction at once so we can talk,”
Hui said, lowering her Hyper Gun. Regardless of the truth in Tango’s words, she had to keep him calm for now.
...
Inside Tokyo Hospital, the number of injured civilians was overwhelming. Usually quiet, the hospital was now packed to the brim, with makeshift beds lining every corridor and hallway, countless patients groaning in pain.
Doctors and nurses raced about in a desperate frenzy.
On a temporary bed in the corridor, Ryusei sat in a daze, watching the still-unconscious Masaki.
After a brief assessment, it was clear Masaki’s wounds were superficial—no internal injuries.
With that confirmed, Ryusei realized Masaki’s collapse was simply due to exhaustion.
Given the shortage of medical staff and the many critically wounded patients, a nurse had simply tossed Ryusei a bottle of medical alcohol and some cotton swabs, instructing him to disinfect Masaki’s wounds himself.
Daigu had already returned to his team to continue battling the villainous giant, leaving Ryusei to ponder what he could do now.
Ryusei’s gaze grew distant.
All three of them had temporarily lost the ability to transform—relying on TPC alone, defeating a giant with nearly limitless power seemed impossible.
“What... can I do now?”
Ryusei murmured, clutching the Dark Divine Light Rod in his hand. Without the power to transform, he was just an ordinary man with a bit more skill than most.
...
The giant under Tango’s control continued to demolish the city at a leisurely pace, the devastation spreading ever wider across Tokyo, and the number of casualties soaring.
Every television channel echoed the same news—Tokyo on the brink of annihilation!
