Chapter 111: Little Zeze and Old Man Fire-Cap
Yue Longze steadied his breath and walked toward the members of the Ultimate Force Zero. He began to converse with them, informing them that he, too, had been blasted into this dimension by a Darklops Zero.
However, he did not mention that he had also managed to destroy his own Darklops Zero.
"Don't worry, kid! At least you've got us to keep you company!"
Glenfire gave Yue Longze a boisterous pat on the shoulder before turning his attention to the naturally serious Jean-bot. "Right, Roasty?"
"Please do not call me Roasty!" Jean-bot interjected, arms crossed, his tone stern.
"What’s the matter? 'Roasty' has a nice ring to it, doesn't it?"
"Please call me Jean-bot! How many times must I explain this to you?"
Yue Longze watched the bickering between Glenfire and Jean-bot with amusement, while Mirror Knight acted as the peacemaker, trying to calm them down. As for Jean-bot’s brother, Jean-nine, he stood quietly to the side, observing the scene in silence.
"Can you two just pipe down? We have a guest here!" Mirror Knight was truly at his wit's end with these two rivals. The "guest" he referred to was, naturally, Yue Longze. He reluctantly invoked the presence of their guest, and to his surprise, it actually worked.
Upon hearing this, Glenfire and Jean-bot finally settled down, both folding their arms and turning their heads away like two sulking children.
"Ahem..."
Yue Longze faked a few coughs. "I say, instead of wasting time arguing... why don't we try to figure out a way to get out of here?"
The group’s expressions soured at his words.
"Actually, we have already tried," Mirror Knight sighed dejectedly.
"Although the barrier of this interdimensional space is relatively weak, our combined strength is still a bit insufficient to break through," Jean-nine, who had remained silent until now, stepped forward to explain.
"Well, that’s easy to fix!" Yue Longze said, brightening. "If we add my power to the mix, we should be able to succeed!"
"Little Ze-ze, you’re being too naive! It isn't that simple!" Glenfire shook his head with a smile. In truth, they had not yet sensed the immense energy hidden within Yue Longze.
"Little Ze-ze..."
Yue Longze only registered those three words, and a vein immediately throbbed in his forehead!
"Please do not call me Little Ze-ze!"
"What’s wrong with that? Isn't Little Ze-ze cute?" Glenfire pursed his lips and continued, "Fine, how about I just call you Little Ze, then?"
Yue Longze was even less pleased. "No! Way!"
Because, suddenly, a certain adult film actress came to mind...
Maria... Ozawa?
Glenfire nodded, resting his chin on his right hand, appearing lost in thought. "Hmm... I still think Little Ze-ze sounds better!"
Yue Longze suddenly felt a deep, profound empathy for Jean-bot’s plight.
Jean-bot, seemingly sensing Yue Longze’s shared frustration, promptly joined his side and began to bicker back at Glenfire. Mirror Knight resumed his role as the weary peacemaker, while Jean-nine, ever the bystander, remained characteristically silent.
"Stop, stop, stop!"
Yue Longze made a time-out gesture with both hands. His verbal skills were simply no match for these two veterans who had been "active on the front lines" for so long.
"Can we please get back to the point?" Yue Longze inwardly massaged his forehead. This group of Zero’s companions were truly a bunch of oddballs! Especially that guy Glenfire!
"Look, I told you, our power isn't enough to break the barrier for the time being!" Glenfire said dismissively, though he added after a moment’s thought, "And even with your help, it won't be enough!"
"If there’s hope, we have to try!" Yue Longze rubbed his nose. "Don't underestimate my power, you Fire-head!"
"...Fire... Fire-head?"
The group froze, and a sudden silence fell over them.
Yue Longze was baffled by the sudden quiet. "Did I... say something wrong...?" he thought sheepishly. If so, he supposed he should apologize.
Just as he was about to offer an apology, a boisterous, exaggerated roar of laughter erupted from Mirror Knight and the others. Even the usually stoic Jean-nine was clutching his sides in hysterics!
"Fire-head! That is... hilarious!" Mirror Knight laughed so hard he bent double, nearly rolling on the ground!
"I guess I overthought it..." Yue Longze breathed a sigh of relief, rubbing his nose again while watching the laughing group. "Is it really that funny? It was just a nickname I came up with on the spot..."
Glenfire himself just stood there, stunned.
"Looks like you’ve finally experienced how it feels!" Jean-bot teased, struggling to hold back his own laughter.
"Little Ze-ze!! I’m going to kill you!" Glenfire made a move as if to pounce on Yue Longze...
However, horseplay was one thing, but as members of the Ultimate Force Zero, they knew when to prioritize their mission. The group calmed down from their antics and began to focus, preparing themselves for the task ahead.
This time, with the addition of Yue Longze’s power, they wondered if they could finally break the interdimensional barrier. Glenfire and the others didn't hold much hope, but as Yue Longze had said:
If there is hope, one must try!
"Hah!"
The group unleashed their maximum energy. As members of the Ultimate Force Zero, they were all formidable, each possessing vast stores of energy.
Yet, none of them could compare to Yue Longze.
After years of tempering in the sub-space, his energy levels had grown significantly. Combined with the new light force bestowed upon him by the Plasma Spark Tower of the Land of Light, Yue Longze’s power was now immense, capable of standing shoulder-to-shoulder with the brilliant Ultraman Zero!
"I didn't expect Little Ze-ze to be this strong!" Glenfire and the others were genuinely astonished.
"Whoosh—"
Powerful energy surged through the dimensional space. With a tacit understanding, they targeted a weaker point in the barrier and funneled all their energy into it.
"Boom!"
The weakened point was finally shattered!
"We can finally get out!"
"Yeah! We did it!"
Yue Longze felt a sense of satisfaction. If not for him, who knows how long these eccentric companions of Zero would have remained trapped?
Thinking of this, Yue Longze suddenly felt that being blasted into the interdimensional space by Darklops Zero might have been a stroke of luck after all.
However, the location where they emerged was not where they had entered.
They were now at a distance—neither too far nor too close—from the battlefield where Zero and the Ultra Brothers were engaged. The group could feel the intense energy fluctuations and, more importantly... the killing intent radiating from the battle.
"Zero must definitely need our help!" Glenfire muttered.
"Little Ze-ze! Roasty! Let’s move!"
