Volume One, Chapter 13: The Plot of the Ultra Brothers
But what’s the use of understanding now! With Ace present, there was nowhere left to escape.
“It seems there’s no choice but to fight to the death!” The Yapoian’s gaze sharpened, and he aimed directly at Mebius, firing a yellow blade of light.
In Mebius’s current state, any hit would surely be fatal. And knowing the nature of the Ultraman race, Ace would definitely risk his life to save him.
That would give the Yapoian a chance to escape! Though it was a bit shameful, his life was more important than the mission.
But in the next second, his eyes nearly popped out of their sockets.
Mebius did not dodge. Instead, flames ignited along his body.
It was unmistakably the Burning Braver form!
His attack was easily deflected.
The Yapoian was speechless.
He had long heard that Mebius was the only Ultraman in the Land of Light capable of switching forms.
Seeing it today, it was truly extraordinary!
No longer wasting time, the Yapoian turned and fled.
At this point, he had no chance of winning; if he didn’t run now, he’d never live to try.
He was fast, but Ace was just as quick.
“Mebius, I leave Earth to you!”
With that, Ace soared into the sky, chasing after the fleeing Yapoian.
Both were long-standing rivals, destined to settle their score. Now was the perfect opportunity.
Within seconds, both figures vanished from Mebius’s sight.
His eyes shimmered; he couldn’t help but marvel, “Brother’s strength is so impressive—and he’s so fast!”
Among the Ultraman Brothers, he was the last to reach adulthood.
He was also the weakest.
Originally, his planetary-level strength was far from enough to carry out the mission of the Messenger of Light. If not for pulling strings, he wouldn’t even have made it to Earth.
But this journey had benefited him greatly.
He’d not only gained friendship, but his strength had risen to Planet Level Nine in just two months, and he’d even acquired the ability to change forms.
In the Land of Light, this was something he’d never dared dream.
It was as if everything was a dream.
Letting the confusion fade from his mind, Mebius exhaled slowly and prepared to revert from his transformation.
But just then, a wave of cold swept over him, instantly freezing him solid.
A cacophony of wild laughter echoed as three figures slowly appeared.
It was Glorazam, Mephilas, and Desrem.
They’d been lurking in the shadows, waiting for the perfect moment to strike.
Now, with Ace lured away by the Yapoian, nothing stood in their way.
As for Tregear—heh—they were confident the three of them could handle one opponent.
“Heh, that Yapoian really is a fool. Didn’t even know the Land of Light had sent an Ultraman; serves him right to die.”
“Good riddance! I never liked that guy anyway.”
“All right, let’s decide how many pieces we should carve Mebius into.”
The three discussed as they approached the frozen Mebius.
Desrem reached out, knocking twice on Mebius’s chest with excitement. “You really did it—solid as a rock!”
“Of course,” Glorazam lifted his chin proudly. “Who do you think I am!”
Mephilas, however, said nothing, his brows furrowed as he surveyed the surroundings.
Ace had left, Mebius was frozen—so why hadn’t Tregear appeared?
That shouldn’t be… Would he really abandon this prize?
As confusion grew, Mephilas caught a glimpse of blue light in the corner of his eye.
“Not good!” His expression changed dramatically. “Move, quickly!”
Desrem and Glorazam reacted instantly, leaping from their positions.
Barely airborne, a concentrated beam exploded beneath them.
Boom—
The violent energy shattered the ice encasing Mebius, sending it flying, and plunged straight into the river.
“Who’s there!”
The enraged Three Kings looked down, their eyes blazing, their auras surging.
On the ground, a red Ultraman slowly straightened, expressionless.
Above his head gleamed a razor-sharp icy blade.
“It’s Seven!” Glorazam gritted his teeth. “Why is he here on Earth as well!”
They had received word that Ace had left the Land of Light, which was why they waited for the Yapoian to make his move first.
But no one told them Seven had left too!
What was going on?
As the three stood bewildered, two more beams of light flashed across the ground.
This time, the newcomers were the First and Jack.
Mephilas’s face twitched, his expression dark. “It seems we’ve walked into a trap.”
With Ace, who had just left, all four Ultraman Brothers were now present on Earth.
And they had been completely unaware.
It was clearly a plan targeting them.
Mebius was the bait!
Tregear, returning, looked astonished.
He hadn’t expected that, apart from Ace, there were three more Ultraman warriors.
But three against three—fair odds, he thought, and chuckled.
“The clash of light and darkness… This is something to look forward to.” Tregear’s eyes gleamed, his grin savage and low. “This must be the first time since my rebirth that I’ve truly felt excitement—ha ha!”
He loved nothing more than battles between Ultraman warriors and equally matched powers of darkness.
For only then could truth emerge.
Only when evenly matched could the most genuine sparks fly!
The first curtain of the conflict between light and darkness—I declare… it has begun!
“Mephilas, surrender now,” Seven nodded. “We’ve already seen through the Dark Galaxy’s plot. The captain is already on his way.”
“This time, not only you, but even the Ampera aliens—we’ll wipe you out together.”
Ever since Impleza appeared on Earth, the Land of Light had sensed the hand of the Dark Galaxy.
They had not forced Mebius to return precisely to draw out the Four Dark Kings—and the Ampera aliens behind them.
And now, their gamble had paid off.
The Four Kings of Darkness had all shown themselves, and the Ampera aliens’ starship was quietly approaching Earth.
If they could defeat the Four Kings here, they could quickly set up defenses.
Then, the Ampera aliens would come, but never leave!
