Volume One, Chapter 127: The Eternal Radiance of Trigger

Seeing that the enemies had retreated, Trigger heaved a sigh of relief, preparing to return to his human form. However, just as he turned, a mechanical monster descended from the sky, causing the ground to tremble violently.

At the same time, GUTS-Select received footage captured by a space satellite. In the video, the space not far from Earth suddenly fractured, expelling two massive spheres of energy—one golden and one red. After plummeting toward Earth, the spheres vanished instantly, leaving no trace for even the radar to detect. Though the footage was startling, everyone’s focus was currently fixed on Trigger and the newly appeared monster; no one had the capacity to spare a thought for this anomaly.

Trigger had just emerged from a grueling battle, his energy reserves severely depleted; merely standing was a monumental effort. The sudden arrival of this monster threw his mind into chaos.

"Kengo, use this!" Yuna’s voice rang out from the ground below.

She held a small golden ball of light. Though diminutive in size, it radiated a holy, powerful, and pure aura that instantly captivated Trigger. Yuna raised the sphere high and threw it toward him with all her might. The sphere flew straight into Trigger’s body, landing in Kengo’s hand and transforming into a glowing golden key.

"This is..."

"It’s a fragment of the Eternity Core!" Yuna shouted. "Yuzare gave it to me!"

Hearing this, flashes of his previous visions raced through Kengo’s mind. No longer hesitating, he inserted the key into his GUTS Sparklence.

"Glitter Trigger Eternity!"

An ethereal voice resonated from the depths of his consciousness. Before Kengo could react, a surge of power so immense it felt as though it might tear him apart erupted from within.

"Argh!"

Trigger let out an involuntary roar. His entire body erupted in golden radiance, shining like a newly born star, casting light that blotted out the sky. The three members of the Dark Giants—having just entered the Kingdom—instantly sensed the change. They whirled around in shock, their gazes piercing through the overlapping layers of space, locked firmly onto Trigger.

"Argh!"

With another low, guttural roar, the golden light surrounding Trigger burst outward, revealing a new, golden form. Glitter Trigger Eternity had arrived.

"What... what form is that?" The anomaly on Earth naturally drew the attention of the Dark Triad. Carmeara gasped in shock, her eyes suddenly burning with intensity. Along with Hudram and Darrgon, they cried out in unison, "It is the power of the Eternity Core!"

Thirty million years ago, they had witnessed the Eternity Core and recognized the signature of that power. Regrettably, they had been but a hair’s breadth away from touching it back then—all because Trigger, the one she trusted most, had betrayed them. Carmeara would never forget the sight: standing before that immense power, she had suppressed her own impulses, intending to offer the best of it to Trigger, only for him to turn and attack them instead.

Thirty million years had passed, yet the agonizing memory had not faded; instead, it had grown clearer with time. And the reason Trigger had betrayed her was entirely because of that human, Kengo Manaka. It was he who had stolen her Trigger!

"Such incredible power!" Trigger looked at his own hands, his face filled with astonishment. The torrents of golden energy not only saturated his entire being but overflowed, forming a blazing aura of energy around his skin. Trigger knew he could not yet fully control this power. Therefore, he had to end the fight quickly.

Trigger raised his left hand, and amidst flickering light, a blade with a hilt embedded with a three-colored diamond crystal materialized. He gripped it firmly. Kengo did not hesitate; he swiftly rotated the crystal dial, neutralizing the power into violet, and released the Glitter Zeperion Beam.

Boom!

Terrifying energy condensed into the blade in an instant, unleashing a dazzling brilliance as he slashed down at the mechanical lifeform.

Zing!

A sharp, cutting sound echoed through the air. The mechanical lifeform was instantly severed in two, dissolving into two plumes of scorching fire that melted into the sky above the already ruined city. Trigger dropped to his knees, unable to hold on any longer, and dissolved into tiny particles of starlight that drifted away.

Zing!

A golden portal appeared once more, and Tartarus, Tregear, and Diavolo emerged ten thousand meters above the ground. Watching Kengo Manaka revert to his human form, Tartarus’s expression turned solemn. "So that is the power of the Eternity Core," he muttered.

Tregear remained silent, but his eyes burned with fervor. He had heard it clearly: the power Trigger had attained was merely a single fragment of the Eternity Core.

If a single fragment could achieve such a level, then the complete Eternity Core...

At this thought, Tregear’s gaze grew dark, and his resolve to seize the Eternity Core hardened. Suddenly, Diavolo, standing beside him, dove downward, plummeting toward the surface.

"What are you doing?" Tartarus frowned deeply and hurriedly gave chase.

Rumble—

With a violent tremor of the earth and flying debris, Diavolo, who had just vanished, reappeared on Earth.

"What!"

Kengo had only just been brought aboard the Nursedessei; his wounds had yet to be bandaged when the base’s alarms startled him.

"Ultraman, show yourself!" Diavolo’s landing was imposing, his voice booming with arrogance. "Come out and face me in a duel!"

"Is he calling for me?" Kengo scrambled up from the cot, the movement tearing at his wounds and forcing a pained grimace. Between Carmeara, Trigger Dark, and that mechanical lifeform, he had endured three battles in less than an hour. His body was already pushed beyond its limits. Yet now, the enemy had returned!

Kengo’s lip twitched; he almost felt like self-destructing. Even as an Ultraman, he couldn't handle this kind of attrition. What was happening to Earth? Why were so many enemies appearing all at once?

Kengo wailed internally, but he forced himself to his feet, swaying as he walked toward the exit. This was his mission—the mission of an Ultra warrior.

Yuna, who had just returned with a medical kit, saw him and cried out, "Wait, Kengo! You can't go out there in this state!"

Before she could finish, Kengo had already drawn his Sparklence, his face grim as he initiated the transformation.

Thud—

Trigger appeared once again, but his condition was dire. The timer on his chest flashed rhythmically, a clear sign that he was at the end of his tether. And his opponent was the Absolute... Diavolo.
