Volume One, Chapter 119: From Another Dimension
"So, who exactly modified this robot?"
As Kengo's voice trailed off in confusion, a mysterious dark shadow appeared before them. The trio was startled, instantly drawing their handguns and shouting, "Who are you!"
The figure seemed to be wearing a spacesuit; as a gust of gas from a nearby pipe hit him, he tumbled to the ground. In his panic, he could be heard muttering to himself, "No, it's no use... I really have to rely on Mr. Yuka!"
Just as he finished grumbling, he spotted Kengo and the others. He let out a yell, instinctively throwing his hands into the air.
"Drop your weapon!" Yuna shouted.
"Weapon?" The man froze, looking at the wrench in his hand with a bewildered expression. He awkwardly explained, "Uh, don't shoot, it's a misunderstanding! I'm not a bad guy!"
As he spoke, he hurriedly flipped open his visor, revealing a human face, and continued, "I'm not some suspicious character."
Seeing that the man looked just like an Earthling, the three of them were clearly taken aback. Kengo followed up immediately: "Are you the owner of this robot?"
"I am Haruki Natsukawa, former pilot of the Storage special airborne mechanical unit of the Earth Defense Force!"
...
Just as he had drifted into a light sleep, Tregear was jolted awake by a loud roar. He opened his eyes, intending to go outside to investigate, when three powerful energy fluctuations suddenly registered in his perception.
Tregear frowned, his gaze lifting slightly. Above the warehouse, he saw three Dark Giants. He recognized one of them—it was the same entity that had clashed with that Warrior of Light.
It seemed his name was... Hudram, was it?
But who were the other two?
Out of curiosity, Tregear calmed his mind and silently extended his telepathic senses. Only then did he realize that a modified King Joe had crashed outside the warehouse, and the Barossa alien who had looted him clean the previous night was out there as well.
"Is that an alien?"
On the warehouse roof, Hudram watched the sneaky figure below with curiosity and asked aloud.
"Who knows." The power of that figure was so weak that Carmeara couldn't even be bothered to take a second look. She said lazily, "Perhaps he’s from another dimension, just like that robot."
At their level of existence, they were naturally aware of the existence of other dimensions. But more importantly, as the leader of the trio, Carmeara was more concerned about Hudram's injuries: "By the way, are you alright after the battle with Trigger yesterday?"
"Of course I'm fine." Hudram averted his gaze, clearly not wanting to discuss the topic. After all, being defeated by Trigger—even if he hadn't used his full strength—was truly humiliating.
"That's good." Carmeara nodded slowly, her gaze drifting to Darrgon, who had been sitting on the ground the entire time. "Darrgon, what’s wrong with you?"
Darrgon sat on the ground, his fingers tracing circles continuously as if deep in thought. When he heard Carmeara call his name, he looked up blankly, then lowered his head again, returning to his daze.
Carmeara: "..."
"This guy's brain has short-circuited again." Hudram gave a light snort. "But it doesn't matter. As long as that alien's goal isn't the Eternity Core, we should head back."
"Eternity Core?"
Those four words caught Tregear's attention. Anything worth the interest of cosmic-level powerhouses could hardly be ordinary. Perhaps it could even help him recover to a decent level.
"It seems I won't be getting any peaceful sleep," Tregear stood up, a faint smile curling his lips. "But before that, I must retrieve my Light Ring."
The Light Ring contained the monsters he had stored away; until his own strength was restored, they were an indispensable asset.
Tregear stepped out of the warehouse, but did not see the Barossa alien. Sensing carefully, he realized the guy had already run into a nearby gymnasium.
"Heh, as expected of a space pirate—quite fast." A red light flashed in Tregear's eyes, and as he took a step forward, he instantly appeared inside the gymnasium.
Straight ahead, he saw the Barossa alien. But there was someone else there too, someone who... didn't seem to be an Earthling.
Neither of them noticed Tregear's arrival, as they were busy arguing over something.
"Treasure hunters are all the same, nya!"
"Nonsense!" Ignis retorted, "What you do is looting; what I do is romance. Do you even know what romance is?"
"Looting is very romantic!" Barossa scoffed and continued, "We often scour the galaxy for treasures, carefully select them, and then use all our might to seize them!"
"There is nothing more joyful or exhilarating than that!"
"Oh? Is that so!" Ignis looked disdainful, though his eyes involuntarily flickered toward the blue box in Barossa's hand. That box contained Ultra Medals; he had just received the intelligence and had sought out Barossa specifically to get his hands on them.
"Of course! If you don't believe me, look at this!" Seeing that Ignis looked down on him, Barossa pulled a massive, bright red fish out from behind his back.
"Damn!" Ignis exclaimed on the spot, "That's a Kodaig fish! How did you get your hands on that!?"
"To recognize this thing... it seems you are a man of taste." Ignis's immediate recognition of the fish earned a sliver of respect from Barossa, though it didn't mean he would bow down to him.
Ignis wouldn't be outdone; he pulled a feather larger than his own foot from behind him.
This time it was Barossa's turn to be shocked. He dropped the giant fish and stammered incoherently, "This, this, this... isn't this a Dallas feather!?"
"Oh! It’s the Death Monia!"
The two continued to one-up each other, the items they produced becoming increasingly precious.
Ignis had never imagined that this thief from another dimension would have so many treasures on him. Some of them he had never even seen before.
"Let me show you this one!" Barossa pulled another item from behind his back. It was a mask, blue and purple, exuding a very mysterious aura.
"Oh?" Ignis's eyes narrowed, and he asked with curiosity, "What treasure is this?"
"This is the Eye of Tregear!" Barossa explained proudly, "Let me tell you, this is the vessel for the power of Tregear, the most powerful Dark Warrior in our universe!"
"Most powerful..." These words deeply enticed Ignis. What he craved most right now was power, and only by obtaining power could he achieve his revenge!
Without any hesitation, Ignis asked decisively, "Will you sell this? I'm willing to trade all the treasures I have for it!"
"What! All your treasures!"
