Volume One, Chapter 106: Ultraman Rejeto
When Jack and his team arrived at the scene, Eddie was doing his utmost to hold back Rugset, though his strained expression suggested he couldn’t maintain it for long.
“Let’s go!” Jack shouted, leading the charge. He kicked Rugset squarely on the head, staggering him back two steps.
Eddie shot Jack a grateful glance. Their eyes met, and an unspoken understanding passed between them.
Seeing Rugset launch another attack, the four quickly spread out, attacking from all angles. But Rugset, as a cosmic white blood cell, was formidable—far more than they could easily handle.
With a single sweeping strike of his tail, Rugset sent all four Ultramen flying through the air, crashing heavily.
“Roar!” Rugset opened his mouth and let out a long howl, then extended his arms, unleashing a terrifying energy blast.
Boom—
The four Ultramen couldn’t dodge in time, thrown to the ground and grievously wounded.
At that moment, a golden portal suddenly appeared nearby.
Two figures slowly emerged, their gazes cold and indifferent as they looked toward the battle.
Their arrival immediately caught the attention of Eddie and the others.
As suspicion flickered, one of them stepped forward slightly, murmuring an incantation in an unknown language.
At his words, smoke materialized out of thin air, swirling with an unsettling aura. Slowly, the shape of a monster took form within the mist.
“What on earth is going on?” Jack eyed the two strangers warily. “Did they summon that?”
“Seems so,” Eddie replied, frowning. Suddenly, he shouted, “Watch out!”
Without warning, Rugset appeared before them, his sharp claws slashing down onto the Ultraman standing beside Jack.
“Ahh!!!”
A scream pierced the air as three massive claw marks tore across the Ultraman’s chest, glowing with radiant light like blood spurting forth.
“Damn it!” Jack snapped back to focus, summoning a spinning disc of light in his palm and slashing fiercely at Rugset’s body.
Sizzle—
The sound of slicing rang out, sparks flying everywhere.
But Rugset’s massive form remained unscathed, untouched by the attack.
“Fall back!” Eddie yelled urgently, hastily retreating with the injured Ultraman.
Jack and another warrior leapt back, creating distance from Rugset.
Before they could catch their breath, the summoned monster suddenly emitted four bolts of electricity, binding them tightly.
The terrifying currents surged through their bodies, numbing their nerves and immobilizing them.
“Damn, this is bad!” The four Ultramen’s faces turned ashen as Rugset advanced once more, their final words already prepared.
Suddenly, a beam of light shot down from the sky, cutting through the four electric restraints.
Thud—
Eddie collapsed to his knees in relief, looking up to see two Ultramen descending gracefully before him.
“Who… who are you?” Eddie stammered, unable to recall their names.
“Hello, I am Ultraman Goss,” the taller one smiled warmly. “And this is Justice.”
“Goss!” Eddie’s eyes widened, and he stepped forward, scanning Goss with awe. “So you are the compassionate warrior I’ve heard of.”
“It’s nothing,” Goss replied softly. “My planet was attacked by Toregia, but thanks to Delacion, I was saved.”
He glanced at Justice before continuing, “We decided to visit the Land of Light to assess the situation. Unexpectedly, we found you here.”
“Following the will of Delacion and the justice of the universe,” Justice said steadily, “let us aid you!”
Without hesitation, they advanced together, unleashing their signature beams.
Rugset didn’t even flinch, effortlessly absorbing the attacks.
Seeing this, Goss and Justice remained calm, switching forms and charging forward simultaneously.
Eddie hurriedly called Jack and the others to engage the summoned monster.
In the distance, Tartaros narrowed his eyes, fingers stroking his chin thoughtfully as he analyzed the newcomers’ combat capabilities.
But soon a cold smile crept over his lips. “Two mere pawns pose no threat to the kingdom.”
“Then let’s eliminate them while we can!” With a gleam of malice in his eyes, Tartaros unleashed a powerful destructive force.
A golden beam pierced through Rugset, reducing him to particles, then continued unabated toward Goss and the others.
Boom—
A towering inferno erupted. The shockwave alone obliterated the summoned monster, leaving nothing but bones, and blasted Eddie and his comrades far away.
Through the distorted vision, Tartaros advanced slowly.
Goss looked up in alarm and demanded, “Who are you?”
“I am the ultimate life form, a warrior of the Absolutians—Absolut Tartaros,” he declared.
Though they had long suspected his identity, hearing it spoken aloud shattered Jack’s composure.
“An ultimate life form!” Eddie’s voice trembled, though he tried to stay composed.
Tartaros wasted no time, spreading his arms wide as energy surged violently in his hands.
The overwhelming aura chilled Jack to the bone.
It was over…
“Absolute Destruction!” Tartaros roared, releasing an energy wave brimming with annihilation.
“Danger!” At the critical moment, Goss and Justice dashed forward, activating their energy shields.
But the power of an ultimate life form was far beyond what two mere pawns could withstand.
“Heh,” Tartaros sneered contemptuously. “Overestimating yourselves.”
As expected, their shields held for only a second before being consumed by the ensuing explosion.
Jack and Eddie instinctively closed their eyes.
Yet long after, no expected impact came. Confused, they opened their eyes again.
Instead of flames or explosions, a blinding radiance filled their vision.
“What!” Tartaros’ expression darkened, clearly caught off guard.
“When two great cosmic forces converge…” Jack muttered involuntarily.
“Within the dazzling light, the true form shall reveal itself…” Eddie’s gaze burned with reverence.
“Ultraman Regetto!”
As the light faded, a commanding figure emerged.
Silver stripes adorned his purple armor, his eyes deep and piercing, a mysterious symbol emblazoned on his abdomen.
It was none other than the legendary warrior—Ultraman Regetto!
