Posting a single chapter, the author is feeling a bit bewildered.

There are two things I’d like to explain to all the readers who enjoy this book. Since some of you might miss the author’s note at the end, I figured it would be better to post a separate chapter.

First, some of the plotlines in this novel are just for fun—please don’t take them too seriously or try to relate them to real life. The purpose is simply to bring a smile to your face. If you’re amused, that’s more than enough; don’t overthink it.

That’s the first point. The second is about the update schedule.

Before I get into that, I want to thank every single reader who’s liked this book. I’ve been writing for nearly three years now—an old-timer among struggling authors—and I’ve never seen results as good as this book’s current performance.

At first, I thought my book was only available on QQ Reading. Since not many people seemed to be reading it, and there were hardly any comments, I naturally assumed it had flopped. Still, out of professional pride, I resolved to finish the story no matter what, so I kept updating.

Then last night, a friend messaged me—he was even more excited than I was. He said, “Look, look! I saw your book on QQ Browser, and it’s number one on the middle ranking list!” He even sent me a screenshot.

Honestly, I was stunned. Completely dumbfounded. Only then did I realize so many readers actually liked this book. It hadn’t flopped at all.

For an author like me, seeing such results brought tears to my eyes. I’m not exaggerating; it felt like a scholar finally passing the imperial exams after years of disappointment. It’s taken me a while to recover from the shock.

A drop of kindness deserves a wellspring of gratitude in return. I won’t go on and on with thanks, but from now on, I guarantee at least three updates a day. If the stats are good, I’ll go straight to five! As long as you’re enjoying the story, that’s all the motivation I need to keep writing.
