Soon, 008 returned, this time without any notification.
“Host, I’m back. I discussed with the company, and they’ve decided to convert merchant rewards into points. However, these points can’t be used in the system’s mall but can be exchanged for currency from other worlds. For example, in the Qingqiu world, what we call copper coins or silver in the mortal realm corresponds to ‘spirit stones’ as the universal currency elsewhere.”

Mo Qianxun’s eyes lit up. Spirit stones—just like in the novels, where these stones are not only used as currency but are also indispensable for cultivation.

Luo Qing adjusted his glasses and asked boldly, “If we manage to exchange enough spirit stones, can we activate cultivation mode here as well?”

“Technically, yes. Your world lacks spiritual energy, making cultivation impossible. But if there were sufficient spiritual energy, cultivation could be possible. However, having spiritual energy alone isn’t enough; other factors are involved.”

“I understand. We’ll study this further.”

Zhao Jianguo’s eyes sparkled upon hearing they might cultivate. After all, who among the Chinese doesn’t dream of flying on a sword?

“Host, you two continue talking. I’m going to create the link now,” 008 said before disappearing.

Luo Qing smiled at Zhao Jianguo. “Are you excited?”

“You say that as if you’re not.”

“Of course I am, but our points are still too few. We probably can’t exchange for many spirit stones yet. Better to save up.”

“True enough.”

Soon, Chef Guo was summoned to the military district. When he heard he was to cook for them, he was initially bewildered; after all, he usually only handled state banquets. He didn’t expect the military’s meals to now reach state banquet standards.

He quickly realized the situation was more complex than he thought. For instance, the kitchen next door was full of processed chickens—at a glance, probably over a hundred. Judging by the urgency, they needed them soon. Was the camp really consuming so many chickens daily now?

Back in his own kitchen, Chef Guo was momentarily at a loss but soon got to work. Some dishes required broth, so he brewed three large pots of soup to use as stock.

After finishing a day’s training, Mo Qianxun opened her phone and saw a private message on the "Come and Taste" app.

Opening it, she found a review from Fox Meier about the dipping sauces.

“Qianxun, you humans are really clever to invent so many delicious flavors.”

“Haha, no big deal. Chinese cuisine has maxed out its skill tree. So, which flavor do you like best?”

“I think all of them are delicious, especially that spicy sauce—it’s addictive.”

“Then you can order spicy roast chicken tomorrow.”

“I just checked my page and didn’t notice before how many tasty dishes there are. I’ve decided not to eat roast chicken tomorrow. Since Elder Six ordered a lot already, I want to try other dishes.”

“I recommend the rice bowl; it has many flavor options and is very filling.”

“By the way, besides food, I also see some daily necessities on your side. Do you deliver those as well?”

“As long as you place an order, we can deliver.”

“That’s great! I just saw a fluffy little fox plushie—it’s so cute! I’ll order it tomorrow.”

“Good, take your time exploring. There should be plenty of great things.”

“Okay, got it.”

After finishing the chat, Mo Qianxun looked out the window, feeling a bit conflicted. The base already had a monopoly on food, but what about general goods? Should she set up a department store in the base?

She messaged Zhao Jianguo about it. Ten minutes later, he replied: “No worries. When she places an order, just tell the person helping you, and someone will naturally go buy it.”

Mo Qianxun glanced at the app icon and sighed. “You really are a proper delivery app. I wonder if you offer errand services too.”

008: “...Great idea!”

The next day, Mo Qianxun stared silently at a large jeep packed with a full box of roast chickens. After three seconds, she gave a thumbs up. “You guys are fast! One hundred and fifty roast chickens done overnight.”

Squad Leader Wang sighed, “It’s not that hard, just time-consuming. Let’s help you deliver them.”

Mo Qianxun checked Fox Meier’s order for the day. “First, we need to go to Jiali Department Store. She didn’t order roast chicken today, just some daily goods.”

“Alright, let’s go.”

They arrived downstairs at the department store. Mo Qianxun got out, while the others stayed in their military uniforms—less convenient for going inside.

Twenty minutes later, after gathering all the items and paying, Mo Qianxun was about to leave when three people blocked her way.

She frowned in confusion, “Please move aside.”

The girl in yellow sneered arrogantly, “The road’s wide. If I don’t let you pass, what can you do?” Her face was full of mocking disdain.

Mo Qianxun glanced at the leader, An Xin. She hadn’t sought trouble with her, yet An Xin was the one causing it.

But time was tight—less than half an hour left for delivery, and overdue would cost points.

Thinking this, Mo Qianxun tried to slip past, but the young man beside the girl seemed to anticipate her move and blocked her path again.

“Did I say you could pass?” An Xin sneered at Mo Qianxun.

“What do you want? I don’t even know you.”

“You may not know us, but we know you, Mo Qianxun. Take my advice: Jing City isn’t a place for poor orphans like you. If you know what’s good for you, leave now, or don’t blame me for being rude.” An Xin whispered close to Mo Qianxun’s ear.

Mo Qianxun rolled her eyes, “Who do you think you are? Acting like Jing City belongs to your family. If you’re so capable, why not lead the country? Just because you have some money, you think you’re superior?”

“Looks like you’re deliberately opposing me,” An Xin’s expression darkened.

Mo Qianxun sneered, “Stranger, we don’t know each other. Don’t act crazy and tell people to leave Jing City just because you feel like it.” She tried to push past the young man.

He hesitated for two seconds, then grabbed her arm, preventing her from leaving. “Xin Xin didn’t say you could go, so you can’t leave.”

Mo Qianxun silently pondered his action, then quietly took out her phone with her other hand and dialed. “Hello, can you come in and help? I can’t leave.”

There was a brief silence before the call was cut off.

An Xin and the others scoffed at this.
