Chapter Ten: The Reckless Human Madman!
"Human brat, you are far too arrogant. I am the Purple Lightning Mad Lion! To dare insult my name—this is unforgivable!!!"
The Purple Lightning Mad Lion was now thoroughly enraged. Its noble bloodline would not permit such contempt for its reputation, and a monstrous, overwhelming demonic aura erupted from its body. Its massive lion head roared toward the heavens, causing birds and beasts to scatter in terror.
Watching the Purple Lightning Mad Lion’s aura surge once more, Su Yang felt not a shred of fear. He seized the initiative, his body moving like a blurred shadow as he unleashed force as heavy as a mountain, crashing toward the beast. "Raaaah!" With his blood boiling, a terrifying energy erupted from every pore on his body.
"I want you dead!" Seeing Su Yang charge, the Purple Lightning Mad Lion opened its blood-stained maw and slammed its front paws forward. The two forces collided instantly, sending out ripples of shockwaves.
Boom!
After a dull thud, Su Yang continued to swing his fists. Even as his arms trembled, his eyes were filled with absolute madness. The Purple Lightning Mad Lion, a sixth-rank demonic beast, possessed a physical constitution far superior to human cultivators of the same level, and it felt no fear.
They traded blows—a punch for a claw. The brutal collision of flesh left Su Yang covered in lacerations, while the Purple Lightning Mad Lion had been sent flying several times by Su Yang's ten-thousand-pound fists, its skull even cracked and bleeding with demonic essence. Yet, neither man nor beast could feel the pain anymore; both had entered a state of pure frenzy. Su Yang sought to temper himself through combat, and the Purple Lightning Mad Lion, possessing absolute confidence in its own body, refused to yield. Neither cared for the agony; each simply wanted to crush the other.
"Aaaahhh!" Su Yang swung his fists incessantly, his battle spirit soaring to its peak. The boiling of his blood made him forget his pain; he knew that only through constant battle could he continue to grow stronger. He landed a punch square on the beast's abdomen, causing even its formidable demonic frame to cave inward. The Purple Lightning Mad Lion roared, ignoring its own injuries as it tore its sharp claws toward Su Yang. Su Yang dodged slightly, avoiding a lethal blow, but three deep, bottomless claw marks were left across his chest, from which golden blood spilled forth.
To the Purple Lightning Mad Lion, such an injury would have crippled any weak human. The cultivators it had fought before usually died on the spot after a single strike. It had once even nearly killed a third-rank Divine Martial Realm master, who only escaped through deceit. Yet, this young human before it showed no intention of backing down, even after suffering such a terrifying blow.
He acted as if he were oblivious to pain, his heavy fists raining down like a storm. The beast’s head began to throb and buzz. "Damn it, this kid is hardly human! How can he be so fearless of pain?" The Purple Lightning Mad Lion had never encountered such a vicious opponent, not even during territorial disputes with other sixth-rank beasts. Its initial ferocity was beginning to waver into cowardice. It could not fathom why this boy didn't fear pain—could his physical body have reached a saintly level?
How could the lion know that Su Yang wasn't fearless? It was his conviction and the hatred burning within him that kept him from falling. He had to become stronger; he had to grow, so that he could annihilate the entire Prince’s Mansion!
As time passed, there was not an inch of Su Yang’s body that wasn't battered. His face, chest, back, and even his fists were twisted and mangled, his bones seemingly displaced from the force of the fight. Yet, he never ceased his assault, continuing to fight like a wild beast. Even as he bled, even as his enemy grew stronger, he only became more valiant.
Even the Great Sage trapped within the stone was shocked by Su Yang's state: "What a brave kid. The 'Great Sage’s Art of War' will surely unleash its true power in you. Kid, if I am to ever walk out of this starry sky, it might truly depend on you..."
"Raaaah!" Su Yang’s relentless, death-defying offensive finally began to gain the upper hand. The Purple Lightning Mad Lion was a sixth-rank beast, and though it had taken heavy blows, its speed hadn't diminished much. But its spirit was broken; it didn't want to be chased and hammered by a human madman, nor did it want a mutually destructive end. It wanted to slip away and return to the depths of the mountains to recover. The humans outside were truly terrifying; no wonder its mother had told it never to provoke them, especially those who didn't fear death.
Once the thought of retreat took root, its momentum was instantly crushed. Su Yang’s frenzied assault left the beast with no will to fight, only a desire to return to its territory. It was fortunate that it had driven away all other sixth-rank beasts nearby; if word of this fight got out, it would never be able to hold its ground in the Beast Mountains again. Although deeply unwilling and desperate to crush Su Yang with a single blow, the beast realized it simply could not.
If this continued, even if it managed to kill the boy, it would be left in a ruinous state. It might be discovered by its old rivals, leading to an even more miserable end.
Trembling at the thought, the Purple Lightning Mad Lion intentionally took a punch. As it flew backward, it unleashed a purple lightning laser, hoping to use the moment Su Yang blocked it to escape. Su Yang, fully immersed in the battle, froze for a moment as the powerful blast headed toward him.
The Great Sage’s voice echoed in his mind: "Kid, don't just stand there! This beast is terrified by your death-defying spirit. Take this chance, stick to it, and force it into the stone!"
Hearing this, Su Yang surged with renewed vigor. He thrust his right fist out, pouring every ounce of his remaining strength into meeting the lightning laser.
The Purple Lightning Mad Lion cursed, "This guy is a total maniac! I'm not playing with you anymore!"
"Go play by yourself!" With that, it beat its wings and turned into a streak of purple lightning, fleeing.
Su Yang’s punch shattered the lightning blast into two, his body passing through the center of the explosion, unharmed. Seeing the beast trying to run, he wouldn't let it have its way. He roared, "Little lion, where do you think you're going?!"
He transformed into a streak of golden lightning, giving chase. One man and one beast raced through the Beast Mountains. The Purple Lightning Mad Lion was nearly spitting blood; it had assumed it could easily shake off the reckless human boy, but it never imagined that this youth, whose cultivation realm seemed unremarkable, could be so fast. He not only kept pace but was gradually closing the distance.
The Purple Lightning Mad Lion had never doubted its life as it did on this day.
