Chapter 54: Yang Mi's Confusion, Boss Yu is Like a Totally Different Person!

Although Yang Mi and her companion were wearing face masks, they could not escape Li Qing’s discerning gaze. Furthermore, little Xuanbaoer in his arms recognized them instantly!

"Daddy, is Mommy here to eat too?" Xuanbaoer asked softly, her big eyes staring straight at Yang Mi.

Noticing the two of them, a flash of surprise crossed Yang Mi’s eyes. She slowly walked over and stood before Li Qing, asking, "Why are you two here?"

Encountering Li Qing and Xuanbaoer here came as quite a surprise to Yang Mi; she never expected to run into them in such a place.

Holding Xuanbaoer, Li Qing replied calmly, "I brought the child out for a meal, and we were just getting ready to leave."

The few of them stood near the entrance. Aside from Yu Liang standing in the distance, there were virtually no other people around, so Yang Mi had no fear of being exposed, mobbed by onlookers, or asked for autographs.

Yang Mi removed her face mask, cast a gentle look at Xuanbaoer, and then turned to Li Qing, her tone mild and warm: "Li Qing, the prices here are exorbitant. You really don't have to bring the child to such high-end places. Eating at home is much more cost-effective and healthier, too."

Ever since Li Qing helped her out last time, Yang Mi had harbored a deep sense of gratitude in her heart. Seeing him bring the child here to dine filled her with mixed feelings: she was glad for the treat, yet felt it was unnecessary. Li Qing smiled faintly and said with equanimity, "We were out, the child got hungry, and we just popped in here to grab a quick bite."

Hugging his chest and making sure nobody else was around, Xuanbaoer whispered to Yang Mi, keeping her voice deliberately low: "Mommy, eating here is free! Because Daddy has some kind of card—we don't have to spend any money at all. Mommy, your meal can be free too."

Xuanbaoer showed off proudly to Yang Mi. In her heart, Li Qing was a superhero, the most powerful person in the entire world!

Yang Mi smiled lightly, not taking the child's words seriously. "Alright, since you've already eaten, you should head back now." She said with a faint smile, "Xuanbaoer, be a good girl and listen to Daddy. Mommy still has some matters to attend to, so you two go on home first."

Xuanbaoer was very sensible; she knew her mother's life was never easy. She nodded and said, "Got it, Mommy. Daddy and I are going out to play this afternoon. We're leaving now!"

Li Qing took Xuanbaoer and left the Peace Hotel.

Yu Liang, however, had been too dazed to react in time. By the time he recovered his wits, he found that Li Qing’s car had already vanished.
