As soon as the call connected, Wu Yufei couldn’t hold back her tears. In all her years in the entertainment industry, she had never suffered such a grievous injustice! Without any explanation, she was kicked out, her scandals were exposed across the entire internet, and her original company was even bringing back her mortal rival, Yang Mi. This was more unbearable than death itself!

On the other end of the line, Chen Ase was confused and asked, “What’s wrong, Yufei? Who bullied you?”

Wu Yufei sobbed, “Honey, I’ve been fired! Jiaxing fired me! Now the entire internet wants to blacklist me, and Jiaxing’s PR team has even leaked my dark secrets!”

Chen Ase was taken aback. “What? Fired? The new chairman just took office, didn’t he? How did you offend him?”

Wu Yufei cried as she briefly recounted what had just happened. After hearing her, Chen Ase furrowed his brow. This situation was truly puzzling—completely baffling.

“So, you’re saying the new chairman kicked you out to bring Yang Mi back?” Chen Ase asked skeptically over the phone. “But Yang Mi doesn’t have much backing herself… this can’t be so simple. Also, did you mention me to the chairman?”

Wu Yufei, still crying, said, “I did, but he didn’t give me the time of day. He even said you might as well try it yourself! Honey, I’m so wronged. You’ve got to stand up for me!”

Chen Ase’s tone darkened with displeasure. “I’ll go see him myself.” Though he wasn’t overly concerned about Wu Yufei, the fact that the other side was so heartless despite knowing he existed meant they were completely disregarding him. In the entertainment world, who would dare be so arrogant and show no respect for him? Even if they were at Huayi, he still had some standing there.

Chen Ase’s voice turned cold. “Enough crying. Don’t panic; I’ll figure out the online situation. I’ll be there soon.”

After hanging up, Wu Yufei’s mood improved slightly. She glanced back at Jiaxing’s office building, her eyes filled with hatred. “Yang Mi, just wait.”

An hour later, a Porsche 911 slowly stopped beneath the office building. Seeing the car, Wu Yufei, in high heels, hurriedly jogged over. This was Chen Ase’s car!

“Honey, you’re finally here!” Wu Yufei smiled as she approached, then quickly burst into tears again. “Honey, you’ve got to handle this for me. When have I ever been treated so unfairly? That Liu Yanbin is such a jerk—he didn’t even respect you!”

Chen Ase’s expression darkened. As a prominent young master from Beijing’s elite circle, he was curious what kind of character this Liu Yanbin was. If someone in the entertainment industry dared to disrespect him, that meant they didn’t even respect his father.

“Let’s go. Take me up there,” Chen Ase said, ignoring Wu Yufei’s emotional state as he strode forward.

Inside Jiaxing’s office building, Chen Ase quickly attracted many glances. Known as the crown prince of Beijing’s entertainment circle, he was quite famous. Several executives and artists, seeing him from afar, greeted him proactively, then whispered among themselves:

“Chen Shao actually came to the company personally. Could it be about Wu Yufei?”

“Definitely. Chen Shao is Wu Yufei’s boyfriend; if she’s in trouble, he’s bound to demand an explanation.”

“I think Chairman Liu’s being too harsh. This is just offending people. Chen Ase is no pushover; his father is a big shot in showbiz.”

Listening to the murmurs, Wu Yufei’s chin lifted proudly, as if saying, “Watch closely—I’ll let you see whose background I have!”

When they reached Liu Yanbin’s office, Chen Ase entered with a slight smile. “Chairman Liu, are you busy? Congratulations on acquiring Jiaxing. You’re now the chairman of Jiaxing Media.”

He remained polite from the start, knowing that Liu Yanbin was no ordinary figure to have acquired Jiaxing. It was better not to burn bridges unless necessary.

Liu Yanbin looked up with a faint smile. “Ah, it’s Chen Shao. What brings you here?”

Liu Yanbin knew Chen Ase; he had studied entertainment industry details thoroughly when taking over Jiaxing to better manage future dealings.

Chen Ase chuckled, “Chairman Liu, you should know why I’m here, right?”

Liu Yanbin didn’t bother with pleasantries and lit a cigarette. “If you’re here about Wu Yufei, you should just go back. The matter has been settled.”

With that, Liu Yanbin effectively shut down the conversation.

Chen Ase’s expression darkened, his smile fading away. “Chairman Liu, why did you fire and blacklist Yufei? I’d like to hear the reason—what could possibly justify you showing me no respect?”

Feigning surprise, Liu Yanbin raised an eyebrow and said, “Chen Shao, is your ego really that big?”

The atmosphere in the office suddenly grew tense.

Chen Ase was stunned for a moment before furrowing his brows fiercely. He hadn’t expected Liu Yanbin to speak to him that way—was he openly looking down on him?

His voice dropped. “Chairman Liu, this isn’t how conversations should go. Jiaxing Media is a major company in the entertainment world. If you handle things like this, I doubt your business will last long.”

His tone carried a threat. Behind him, Wu Yufei’s emotions surged; she just wanted to see her husband fight for her.

Liu Yanbin flicked ash from his cigarette and sneered, “Are you done? If not, get out. Don’t waste my time.”

Having just taken over the company, Liu Yanbin was busy and had no patience to waste on some spoiled heir.

Chen Ase blinked at Liu Yanbin, surprised by his attitude. This was infuriating—a chairman of an entertainment company acting so clueless, or rather, so arrogant toward him!

But Chen Ase kept his composure; as a true heir, he had a certain depth.

“Well, if that’s your stance, there’s nothing more to discuss,” Chen Ase said, narrowing his eyes. “But I do want to know—what exactly is your reason for doing this? There must be some justification for such an outrageous act.”

Liu Yanbin smiled faintly. “You really want to know, huh? I guess Wu Yufei sent you to ask.”

“No problem, it’s no secret. I want Yang Mi back. I’m aware of Wu Yufei’s past behavior, so I decided to blacklist her. Of course, I’m just an employee; the real person wanting Yang Mi back isn’t me. I advise you to think carefully.”
