Meng Lianzhi came downstairs and happened to catch this affectionate scene, feeling a bit more at ease.

"Xiaozhou is here."

"Yes, I’ve come to pick up my wife."

Seeing him so tender, Meng Lianzhi felt that this girl, Tang Yuan, was lucky; she didn't know how to cherish him and even dared to talk back to her mother-in-law.

Taking a deep breath, she asked, "I heard you had low blood sugar at the company this morning? Are you feeling better now?"

"I'm fine. I think I was just missing Yuanyuan."

Meng Lianzhi was even more satisfied. As long as Shen Zhou liked Tang Yuan, this marriage could last a long time.

"Alright, alright, enough with the public displays of affection in the middle of the night. Take her home."

Shen Zhou smiled, his hand still resting on Tang Yuan's waist. "Mom, we’ll be heading back now. Yuanyuan has been in a bad mood these past few days; if she offended you, please bear with her."

With him having said as much, what else could Meng Lianzhi say? She just chuckled and waved them off.

As Shen Zhou led her out of the Tang residence, he released his grip on her waist. Tang Yuan got into her own car parked nearby, seemingly intending to drive herself home. Shen Zhou stood outside, wanting to say something, but his phone rang at that moment.

Tang Yuan didn't want to speak to him at all, yet she heard her own stage name mentioned in his conversation.

"Calling her Tessa? Hmm, I see. Have the people at Fenghua Entertainment handle it. Just make her apologize."

Tang Yuan gripped the steering wheel, guessing that Song Qianqian must have asked him to help her vent her frustration. She hadn't expected him to involve himself personally in such a trivial matter. She lowered her lashes, about to hit the accelerator, when Shen Zhou got in on the other side, taking the passenger seat.

He leaned back, fastened his seatbelt, and rested his chin on his hand, looking at her with a playful, mocking glint in his eyes. Her expression was calm, though a clear fingerprint mark remained on her cheek. He reached out and brushed his fingertips over the red marks as if in distress. "Did your mother hit you?"

She found it amusing. As she pulled the car out, she retorted, "Why are you putting on an act?"

If not for his stunt with the low blood sugar, Yao Mei and Meng Lianzhi wouldn't have come looking for trouble with her one after another today.

Shen Zhou chuckled, his eyes crinkling. In the two years they had been married, Tang Yuan had always been docile, as soft as dough, but in the past few days, she had repeatedly snapped at him. Tang Yuan thought he was truly sick; how could he still laugh after being talked to like that?

"Wife, I didn't fake the low blood sugar on purpose. I just met a business partner I didn't particularly like and used it as an excuse to dodge the social engagement. I didn't expect it to reach the elders' ears. Your husband apologizes, hmm?"

Tang Yuan’s eyes turned slightly red, and her fingertips tightened on the steering wheel until they ached. The only reason he was willing to coax her now was that he knew she wasn't pregnant and had set his mind at ease. Perhaps her rebelliousness piqued his interest, like seeing a cat throw a tantrum—it seemed fresh to him.

Is it just acting? She could do that too.

As the car pulled up to Shuiyue Bay, she turned to look at him with feigned tenderness, her voice husky. "I was so happy that you were willing to come to the Tang house to pick me up. I haven't been controlling my temper well lately. I’ll change. Could you come home more often in the future?"

The amusement in Shen Zhou’s eyes vanished instantly, as if he were seeing that submissive, gentle, yet unremarkable Tang Yuan of old. He gave a perfunctory "Mmh" and got out of the car to take a call.

Tang Yuan found it ironic. She followed him into the hall, and while she was still changing her shoes in the foyer, he was already heading back out. "I have some things to take care of at the company."

It probably wasn't the company; it was his little mistress. Tang Yuan originally didn't want to ask, but knowing he didn't like her previous demeanor, she deliberately feigned reluctance. "What could be so urgent? Can't you stay home and keep me company? My face really hurts."

Shen Zhou raised a hand and patted her cheek, his tone gentle. "Go apply some medicine yourself."

With that, he turned and left. Tang Yuan stood where she was, the corners of her mouth twitching. She went upstairs to the guest bedroom at the very end of the hallway.

This day had truly made her see her situation clearly. If she went head-to-head with Shen Zhou, she would only be the one to suffer. From now on, she would "build the boardwalk in the open while secretly crossing the passage." Before she had enough capital to stand tall, playing the fool was a necessity.

Shen Zhou got into his car and heard Jiang Nian in the front say, "President, Miss Song was slapped. She asked me to send someone to deal with that little star. What do you think..."

Shen Zhou had originally intended to blacklist the one called Tessa, but since Qianqian only wanted to teach the little star a lesson, then let her do it.

"Don't ask me about such trivial matters in the future. Although Qianqian is mischievous, she won't cause any major trouble."

Jiang Nian nodded; this meant he was going to protect Miss Song.

"The Madam mentioned earlier that she wanted to go to Fenghua Entertainment..."

Shen Zhou lit a cigarette, a sneer flashing in his eyes. "Yuanyuan is just a delicate flower, ruined by the Tang family for so many years. Even if she has a little spirit left, she'll learn her lesson after hitting a few walls. Don't worry about it."

That night, Tang Yuan contacted several directors she knew from before to see if they had any roles available. When she first started her studio, only Chen Sen and Director Zhang knew she was Shen Zhou’s wife. She hadn't made a big show of it, so those who knew her only knew her as Tessa.

Fu Yansheng was about to join a production; she needed to check on him frequently while also securing new roles for him. But the most important thing right now was to get him to move out of Lingxi Street. Lingxi Street was far too chaotic; if something happened, the consequences would be dire.

She remembered that when she got married, her brother, Tang Shangxu, had given her a key, saying it was one of his properties. As a rising elite, Tang Shangxu possessed countless real estate assets. He was willing to give her the key because he would absolutely never go to live in that property himself.

She hurriedly rummaged through her cabinet and found the key. In truth, Tang Shangxu was quite good to her, but he was too stern. Though he wasn't as harsh as Meng Lianzhi, the mere sight of his cold face made her afraid.

Taking a deep breath, she found the specific address written on the back of the key and decided to take Fu Yansheng to move in first thing tomorrow morning. Fu Yansheng was the only artist she had; she had to take good care of him.
