Chapter 40: Grade A Observation Seed

Qin Yan looked deeply at the people in the room. "Everyone present here is a battle-hardened veteran."

"As you can all see, student Shi Yu is top-tier in terms of talent, strength, willpower, composure, and valor."

"He achieved ten consecutive victories in the Bronze District, a feat no one has accomplished since An Shuangwen fifteen years ago."

"As for why Shi Yu was able to overwhelm other martial artists in the Bronze District..."

Qin Yan manipulated his computer a few more times and brought up a file.

"Before this meeting, we retrieved the spiritual soul test report and other performance data from the Xingchen City Education Bureau."

"Student Shi Yu's spiritual soul is extraordinary, possessing innate talent."

"Furthermore, this morning, the Xingcheng Branch of the Martial Soul Hall Inspection Hall also provided a relevant investigation report. Shi Yu's background is clear, his social connections are clear, and his trajectory of movement has no issues."

"The possibility of him being contaminated by otherworldly creatures has been ruled out."

"What is even more crucial is that during his first year in high school, he was awarded the title of a righteous hero."

"His personal character and integrity are well worth anticipating."

"Therefore, I propose listing Shi Yu of Yali High School as an A-grade observation seed. Do any of you have any opinions?"

"Agreed!"

"Seconded!"

In the office, it was passed unanimously.

Qin Yan nodded. "Very well. When Shi Yu turns eighteen next year, we will offer him a contract based on A-grade standards."

"I believe that in the near future, we will see his figure on the battlefield!"

"Next."

Qin Yan收敛 smile, his voice turning solemn. "Let us proceed with the official agenda of this meeting."

"Recently, spatial fluctuation precursors have appeared in multiple regions across Nanhu Province, Beihu Province, Xijiang Province, and others."

"We need to maintain a high level of focus and monitoring."

"Among them, according to monitoring data feedback, the spatial fluctuations in the Luoxiao Mountains are particularly prominent."

"There is already a trend of escalating from a Level 1 spatial incident to a Level 2."

"And it is highly likely to continue upgrading the incident level."

"Therefore, I plan to deploy as follows..."

...

Shortly after the meeting concluded, Shi Yu, who was training in the martial arts hall, received a call from Lin Zhenfeng.

"The military?" Shi Yu was startled.

He never expected that the seemingly ordinary Yuelu Mountain experience project would conceal such a massive entity as the military.

No wonder they had the authority to grant a special account for the Hongmeng Network!

Indeed, there are no secrets behind the internet.

"You just need to keep this to yourself; it's classified externally," Lin Zhenfeng instructed. "Only four people in the school know about this: Principal Zhu, Principal Song, Director Yu, and myself."

Lin Zhenfeng felt a wave of deep emotion.

The gazes focused on Shi Yu were growing increasingly numerous: the Song family, the Xia family, Tianheng, and the military.

If this student of his kept walking down this path, he might truly witness the most magnificent scenery at the peak of martial arts.

"Teacher Lin, what exactly is this A-grade observation seed?" Shi Yu asked.

"Observation seeds are mostly targeted at outstanding university students," Lin Zhenfeng explained.

"If their character is sterling, their willpower tenacious, and their talent outstanding, the military will include them on an observation list and sign contracts categorized into different tiers."

"Of course, whether one is willing to sign the contract is entirely up to personal choice, with no compulsion."

"Generally speaking, the higher the tier, the better the benefits. The cultivation resources provided by the military definitely surpass those of martial arts organizations of the same level."

"However, while enjoying lavish benefits, the seeds must correspondingly shoulder certain obligations."

"When facing missions requiring special operations, the seeds are expected to act as the sharp blade to break the deadlock and tear open a breach on the battlefield."

"If one can earn military merits, it is undoubtedly a double harvest of honor and reward."

Lin Zhenfeng sighed. "It is extremely rare for someone like you, still a high school student, to be included on the observation list."

"However, for you, it brings tremendous benefits."

"After being included in this list, you can enjoy bonus points during the college entrance examination."

Hearing this, Shi Yu's eyes lit up.

Depending on the grade, observation seeds can grant varying bonus points.

Grade A grants a full 25 points.

For a college entrance examination where a single point can separate thousands or even tens of thousands of rank positions, the bonus points from the A-grade observation list are truly weighty.

With Lin Zhenfeng introducing the military's details like family treasures, Shi Yu's curiosity was piqued.

"Teacher Lin, you seem quite familiar with the military."

Lin Zhenfeng laughed heartily. "Back in the day, I was a soldier too."

Fifteen years ago, he graduated from Central South University with a perfected Foundation Establishment realm, yet remained unable to break through to the Qi Aperture realm.

Right at that time, the Yanhuang Otherworld fiercely breached the secret realm space where the two worlds intersected, plunging Yuezhou City in Nanhu Province into imminent peril.

Lin Zhenfeng's hometown was in Yuezhou City, so he answered the call without hesitation, threw himself onto the battlefield, and became a soldier.

On the battlefield, he fought for four years, slaying countless enemies.

Amidst life and death, he finally broke through the bottleneck, becoming a Qi Aperture martial artist at the age of 26.

Some time after being demobilized, he came to Yali and became a martial arts teacher.

"In short, a martial artist acts for two reasons: first, to protect the country and defend the homeland; second, to refine their martial arts."

Lin Zhenfeng told Shi Yu, "As long as your actions leave no shame in your heart and no shame before heaven and earth,"

"Whether you choose the five major martial arts organizations or the military in the future, they are all broad avenues."

...

The next day marked the opening of the Municipal Education Bureau's intensive training class.

Shi Yu slowly gathered his energy in the martial arts room, halting his cultivation.

Three days had passed since his return to Xingcheng from Journey to the West.

His progress in pushing toward the fifth layer of the Qi-Gathering Realm had reached 88%, and in less than two days, he would advance.

Meanwhile, ordinary high school students hadn't even reached the first layer of the Qi-Gathering Realm.

Before heading out, Shi Yu first applied a seal to himself.

[Host: Shi Yu]
[Spiritual Soul: Level 12.3 (Level 15.3)]
[Physique: Level 7.7 (Level 17.7)]
[Cultivation: Level 1 Qi-Gathering Realm (Level 4 Qi-Gathering Realm)]

The values in parentheses were his true state, concealed by the sealing technique so that no one could detect them.

Looking at himself disguised with the vest, Shi Yu was very satisfied. This made things foolproof.

From now on, every once in a while, he would lift the seal a little bit, letting everyone gradually get used to his rate of improvement. Over time, naturally, there would be no problems.

The opening of the class took place at Central South University.

When Shi Yu arrived at the school gate, the other two students from Yali High School participating in the municipal intensive training had already arrived.

They were Jiang Chenchen from Class 3 and Wan Song from Class 6.

To be fair, their aptitudes were also exceptionally outstanding, with spiritual soul levels of 8.3 and 8.2 respectively.

At their standard, by the time of next year's college entrance examination, as long as they could reach the seventh layer of the Qi-Gathering Realm and above, their spiritual soul level could rise to level 10.

Merely in terms of the spiritual soul, they had already met the passing standard for graduating from a martial arts university.

As for cultivation, after entering university, barring accidents, they would successfully establish their foundation during their freshman year, perfect it by their junior year, and attempt to break through to the Qi Aperture realm by their senior year.

University graduates at the Qi Aperture realm were elite talents eagerly fought over by any martial arts organization.

"Shi Yu!"

As soon as they saw Shi Yu, they greeted him enthusiastically.

There was no help for it; beyond the heavens there are heavens, and beyond people there are people—Shi Yu was simply that heaven beyond heaven and person beyond person.

Shi Yu smiled and returned the greeting.

Before long, the school's dean of students, Yu Guochuan, also arrived at the school gate.

On the first day of class, he would lead the team to attend the opening ceremony of the municipal intensive training.

He smiled and patted Shi Yu's shoulder and back, appearing immensely affectionate, whereas he merely nodded simply to Jiang Chenchen and Wan Song.

"Let's go, let's go witness the students from other schools!"

Yu Guochuan smiled and strode ahead, supremely composed and confident.

For no other reason.

Because in front of Shi Yu from his own school, any radiant genius would probably be completely eclipsed.

Coming to Central South today felt to him like a parent attending a parent-teacher conference at school.

His own child had scored a hundred points, so naturally he could walk with his head held high and full of imposing momentum!
