Chapter 13: The Martial Arts Mentor

Ignoring the murmurs around him, Shi Yu stood calmly before the punching power machine. Since completing the first stage of the Nascent Origin Realm, he had deliberately tested his true punching power on the machine installed in the independent martial arts room. The real punching force had astonishingly reached 3,138 kilograms! However, such a formidable figure could not yet be casually revealed to others. Only by extending the time frame—waiting a year before displaying such strength—could it be barely accepted by everyone. Even geniuses must abide by science.
As Shi Yu pondered this, he asked Jiang Wei about the best punching power record previously achieved in their class.
“Hm, I think it was Li Luoke,” Jiang Wei recalled. “His punching power is 462 kilograms, and his speed is 9.7 meters per second.”
Shi Yu raised an eyebrow slightly; for a high school student, this was already an impressive achievement. He glanced toward Li Luoke in the distance, who was also looking his way. Their eyes met, and they nodded respectfully to each other. The two were known as the top contenders in their class, far surpassing their peers in dedication to martial arts training.
“Judging from that punching power and speed, his physique must be at least level seven,” Shi Yu quickly calculated in his mind. This kind of talent was definitely among the elite students. Unfortunately for Li Luoke, the extraordinary Shi Yu of Class 2-1 had overshadowed his glory.
“Well then, I’ll just show a bit, something close to Li Luoke’s level,” Shi Yu said. He took a deep breath, assumed a standard stance, and roared fiercely, as if channeling all his strength into a single punch.
From an outsider’s perspective, his veins bulged, clearly exerting full power. The punching power machine’s numbers rapidly fluctuated: “465 kilograms!”
Jiang Wei excitedly raised both hands in cheer. Lin Zhenfeng nodded approvingly; the progress was significant compared to last month.
Next, Shi Yu moved to the 60-meter sprint track beside the training hall. Adjusting his breath, he sprinted at full speed. A few seconds later, the test ended.
“10.2 meters per second,” he thought anxiously. That performance should be acceptable. After all, his actual speed was 42.6 meters per second! At that real speed, he could run 100 meters in just over two seconds!
After completing all the tests, Shi Yu, through tremendous effort in holding back, secured first place in every event.
“All right, that’s all for today’s class,” Lin Zhenfeng said, hands on hips as he addressed the class. “Tomorrow, the school will begin assigning cultivation techniques. Remember, you reap what you sow. Whether you work hard and practice diligently during the summer vacation will determine your results when senior year begins! Understood?”

“Understood~~~”
“Louder!”
“Understood!!”
Lin Zhenfeng nodded and scanned the class before waving his hand. “Dismissed.”
The students immediately dispersed like birds scattering.
“Shi Yu, stay behind,” Lin Zhenfeng called him over.
“Teacher Lin, what is it?” Shi Yu asked, eager to return to the martial arts room to continue training.
Lin Zhenfeng smiled. “The school has a comprehensive support plan for you; the martial arts room and cultivation techniques are just part of it.”
“Next, I’m going to introduce you to someone.”
“Who?”
“Your one-on-one mentor. From now until the college entrance exam, whenever you have questions about cultivation, you can consult her.”
“Teacher Lin, isn’t that you?” Shi Yu asked in confusion. Lin Zhenfeng had been his homeroom teacher since senior one, so naturally Shi Yu hoped he would continue guiding him.
“Silly boy, there are many people in the school stronger than me,” Lin Zhenfeng sighed. “Besides, someone as gifted as you should be taught by a more suitable teacher.”
“I see…” Shi Yu was silent.
Lin Zhenfeng hooked an arm around Shi Yu’s shoulder, like a brother. “Anyway, by next year’s college entrance exam, you have to at least come back as the top scorer in Nanhu Province—that would make me very happy.”
Hearing Lin’s words, Shi Yu nodded firmly.
...
The two left the martial arts hall, passed through the bustling playground, and arrived at the fifth floor of the administration building. Shi Yu stared blankly at the principal’s nameplate on the door.
“Teacher Lin, could it be that my mentor is…”
Lin Zhenfeng nodded and lightly knocked on the door.
“Come in!” A clear, melodious voice came from within, like a spring flowing through a mountain stream—pleasant and soothing.
They pushed the door open.
Before them sat a figure radiant as a brilliant star, focused on handling official documents at her desk.
Song Yunwei, vice principal of Yali High School, was not only striking in appearance but also immensely powerful. Five years ago, she had already entered the Transcendent Realm and was currently a formidable Outer Wraith Realm expert, honored with the title of Grandmaster.
“Principal Song, I have brought Shi Yu,” Lin Zhenfeng said solemnly.
Song Yunwei looked up slightly, setting down the documents as she scrutinized Shi Yu.
As vice principal, she had not paid much attention to the boy previously. Though Shi Yu had performed well in various aspects before, students of that caliber were not uncommon at Yali High, such as Xia Yu, whom Song Yunwei knew better.
However, since the soul evaluation a few days ago, Shi Yu’s fame had spread rapidly throughout Yali High—everyone knew of him. She naturally reassessed him and immediately recognized his importance.

Song Yunwei rose from behind her desk and stepped forward. Tall and elegant, she wore a sleek black professional suit that highlighted her perfect figure. Her legs, clad in black stockings, were long, straight, and powerfully toned.
Wearing high heels, she stood eye-to-eye with the handsome youth. Her eyes were clear as a spring, gentle yet bright, as if capable of cleansing the soul.
“Good day, Principal Song!” Shi Yu greeted her respectfully, eyes forward.
“Shi Yu, your name has been like thunder throughout the school these past few days,” she smiled warmly, her expression full of admiration.
Reflected in her eyes, Shi Yu’s handsome features were striking, his brows sharp and heroic, his bright eyes like stars brimming with boundless energy. He carried both youthful vigor and a calm, reserved demeanor. His well-proportioned 1.85-meter frame stood tall and straight like a proud poplar tree.
His appearance was truly worthy of his exceptional talent.
Feeling the intensity of her gaze, Shi Yu blushed slightly and scratched his head in thanks.
“As long as I’m at school, you can come to me anytime,” Song Yunwei said with a gentle smile. “If you have any questions about martial arts, I will speak openly and thoroughly.”
“Thank you, Principal Song!” Shi Yu expressed his gratitude again. As a student of this school, he was well aware of who she was. He knew not to be fooled by her beauty—Song Yunwei was a genuine powerhouse among the transcendent cultivators. While Teacher Lin was still striving in the Opening Realm, she had already advanced to the Outer Wraith Realm at twenty-six, once a prodigy of the heavens. Star City Television had even made a documentary about her martial arts journey.
Nodding, Song Yunwei reached out and lightly patted Shi Yu’s shoulder to encourage him to continue his efforts.
But the moment her hand touched his body, a flash of surprise flickered deep in her eyes. As a transcendent expert, her senses far exceeded those of ordinary martial artists. Lin Zhenfeng could not detect Shi Yu’s cultivation progress and had to ask for updates, but Song Yunwei could feel the circulation of qi within Shi Yu’s body through mere contact.
“You’ve already begun to gather primordial energy?” she asked in astonishment.
She did not dare to think further, as that would be too incredible.
Shi Yu nodded sincerely. Indeed, he had already begun, just gathering quite a lot.
The admiration in Song Yunwei’s eyes immediately turned into a fiery glow.
This truly was a treasure of a boy!
