Outside the door, four shadowy figures floated in lightly, their faces indistinct. They carried an empty wooden frame, emanating a chilling aura that sent shivers down the spine.

Liu Haizhu tried to speak but found no sound escaped his throat. As the figures drew closer, the air around the sofa grew icy cold, penetrating to his very bones. He attempted to stand but his body was limp, utterly powerless.

Helpless, he watched the dark shapes come to a halt before him, his body hairs standing on end. Even as they approached, he couldn’t make out their faces—his eyes seemed as if blinded by some curse.

Worse still, one of the shadows waved at him, and to his horror, Liu Haizhu felt himself lift into the air like a stray hair, silently floating upward.

“Ah!!!” he bellowed in frustration, his eyes tearing as he glanced desperately at the two doors behind him. Thankfully, at least they were unharmed. But what on earth was happening?

Gritting his teeth in vain, Liu Haizhu was already being carried on the wooden frame, moved out the door by the four shadows. What did they want? Was he drugged? Who had sent them? Were they here to kill him?

Staring into the darkness of the courtyard, his gaze was nearly hopeless. No! He could not just vanish like this—Ying Si was still waiting for him!

A fierce will to survive surged within him, nearly driving him mad. Suddenly, he shouted out, and with a thud, he fell off the stretcher.

—

At dusk, Liu Haizhu suddenly opened his eyes.

There were no shadows. No stretcher. No attempted murder.

He was lying safely on the sofa.

He let out a heavy sigh, sat up, gasping for breath, and lit a cigarette with a snap.

Yet his eyes remained fixed on the broken chair before him.

Suddenly, he cursed, “Damn you, it was you, wasn’t it!”

Luoxiao Ni groggily rose, rubbing her eyes as she approached the door, a faint trail of drool at the corner of her mouth. “Brother-in-law, is it morning already?”

Liu Haizhu turned from furiously pounding the chair, instantly softened by the little one’s innocence.

He laughed, scratching the back of his head as he scooped her up gently. “Did I wake you?”

“No…” Luoxiao Ni stared blankly at the ruined chair on the floor. “Brother-in-law, what are you doing?”

Seeing Ying Si come out as well, his face flushed faintly—something rare for him.

“You keep busy, Ni’er. Be good and come back to sleep,” Ying Si said wisely, understanding everything at a glance.

Luoxiao Ni rolled her eyes charmingly. “Good, my foot.”

She tugged playfully at Liu Haizhu’s face, pouting. “You disturbed my sleep—what’s your punishment?”

Bending down, his eyes full of affection, Liu Haizhu said, “How about I take you out for something delicious tomorrow?”

“Hmph,” she huffed, “That’s acceptable.”

“But there’s one condition…” She hooked her arm around his neck and planted a fierce kiss on his cheek before jumping down and leading her sister back to bed.

Liu Haizhu wiped the drool from his face and watched them go in.

Then he spun to glare fiercely at the chair. “We’re not done yet!”

—

At Hong Kong Baptist Hospital, located on Waterloo Road in Kowloon, this large private hospital was founded by foreigners. Even the nurses were Westerners, so the fees were naturally exorbitant.

In room 312, Han Bin was wrapped up like a mummy, eyes blazing with fierce fire.

He was in a sorry state.

His younger brother had been killed by mainland thugs, and Tuen Mun was lost to them as well.

Now, lying here in his Bentley Tiger suite, many demons coveting the Kwai Tsing District were stirring with ambition.

If a fight broke out, the natives would struggle to hold their ground.

All of this was because of that Liu Haizhu. Han Bin swore he would kill him, no matter the cost.

The thought ignited a fierce rage within him, as if his wounds worsened.

Trembling, Han Bin raised his left hand, biting his lip, and with his two remaining functional fingers painstakingly scrolled through his phone’s contacts.

He found a number and dialed without hesitation.

—

On the call, Han Bin’s gaze was filled with malice, his voice hoarse. “Where are you?”

The voice on the other end was wild and carefree: “Haha, you sick dog finally came to your senses!”

Han Bin fell silent.

“I’m in Cambodia, just cleared a hill for someone today and snagged three young girls on the side—ah, just one hit and they’re dripping!” the voice boasted.

Han Bin gritted his teeth. “When are you coming back? The job we talked about last time—get it done.”

There was a pause, then a teasing tone: “Han Bin, you should’ve done it my way long ago!”

The man’s enthusiasm grew: “I’m telling you, our partnership—Hong Le will become a century-old brand, might even go public!”

Han Bin responded, eyes burning with hatred: “I want you to kill someone else for me, extra pay.”

“Sure, who?”

“A man who killed my brother, also from your mainland.”

“Wow, killing a dinosaur, that’s no small feat. If I do it, one million.”

“Deal!”

Han Bin slammed the phone down, but his finger throbbed painfully from the force, making him yelp.

—

Outside the ward, a strikingly seductive nurse rushed in, panting. “What’s wrong, Mr. Han?”

Han Bin glared at her, breathing hard. “You—come here!”

The nurse licked her lips. “Mr. Han, didn’t I just take care of you at noon? This isn’t good for your health.”

Han Bin was impatient and urgent. “Cut the crap, hurry up!”

“But I’m eyeing a lipstick,” she murmured, biting her lip, unable to move, her lips even more tempting.

“How much?” he demanded, eyes bloodshot, losing all calm.

He wasn’t usually like this. Though the private nurse was beautiful, she wasn’t his type.

Maybe they slipped something into his food? Damn this hospital—no one’s in charge?

But there was no time to worry now; the arrow was already nocked.

The sultry woman’s voice grew even more alluring: “Darling, I’m after the KissKiss Golden Diamond Lipstick, over twenty thousand. Would you buy it for me?”

Han Bin roared like an angry lion: “Buy, buy, buy!”

She licked her lips, prowling toward him like a wild leopard in heat. “Buy me that lipstick, and I’ll be all yours.”

Han Bin shivered inexplicably, his whole body suddenly trembling.
