After consuming several stalks of Lemon Gardenia, Mo Han eased some of his pain and prepared to return to the Demon Clan. Just then, a teary-eyed little glutinous rice ball toddled in.
He fixed his gaze and, well, fate had a cruel sense of humor—this was none other than the malicious spirit who had injured him a few hours ago.
The little bundle wiped her reddened eyes and stepped into the main hall, looking up at him with pleading eyes, asking, “Are you the demon I hurt today?”
Mo Han was taken aback, uncertain of the child’s intent, but nodded hesitantly, “Y-yes…”
What could she want?
He wanted to ask, but seeing that this little spirit was only a baby of a mere hundred thousand years—practically an infant—he refrained.
“My father ordered me to come and apologize to you.”
“My father?!” Mo Han paused, wondering who that could be.
The little spirit immediately focused her mind to cast a summoning spell, bringing forth the Cang Qiong Hao sword—the very blade that had wounded him.
As Mo Han prepared to react, the child dropped the sword at his feet with a “clack,” closed her eyes, and wore an expression as if ready to meet death without fear.
She said, “In the spirit of reciprocity, you must wound me once in return.”
“Huh?!” Mo Han’s eyes widened in disbelief; this was the first time he’d seen “an eye for an eye” taken so literally.
And what do you mean, wound you once?
Aren’t we already even?
Besides, now that he had the Chimei Pearl Flower and owed a favor to the Lord of the Underworld, why was this little ghost stirring up trouble again?
The little spirit opened her red-rimmed eyes, her small face suddenly filled with disdain, “Why can’t you understand me?”
“I said, you wound me once, and that’ll settle our score.”
“No!” Mo Han hurriedly responded, not wanting her to think he was truly ignorant.
“You don’t have to do that. I’ve already forgiven you. Besides, my wounds have mostly healed. Thank you... little spirit.”
The child’s eyes snapped wide open, as if hearing the term for the first time and finding it offensive. She scolded, “What did you call me? Little spirit?!”
“It’s... it’s not that,” Mo Han stammered, wanting to explain he didn’t know her and had no choice but to call her that, but the explanation felt off, and he choked on his words.
The little spirit stepped forward, raised her chin proudly, looking down at him with regal arrogance, “I am the only daughter of the Lord of the Underworld here! My name is Miaoyuan! Not ‘little spirit’!”
“You—you—you are the young princess?” Mo Han was stunned beyond belief; he never imagined that the little spirit who had wounded him was in fact the Lord of the Underworld’s own daughter.

Of course—if she weren’t the young princess, why would the Lord of the Underworld have sent apologies to him on her behalf?
The little spirit’s petite lips parted softly, “Yes, you may address me with respect.”
“Demon—”
“But now I am the one apologizing to you; you need not be so formal.”
“...” Mo Han’s words of courtesy were immediately stopped.
The little spirit picked up the sword from the ground, holding it high above her head, and then lowered her gaze as she said, “Today, I injured you while practicing sword flying; I offer you my apology.”
Mo Han was startled, quickly protesting, “No, no, no—”
He could not accept a young princess’s apology like this.
“You may keep this sword and wound me once; that way, we’ll be even.”
“No, that won’t do.” Mo Han carefully reached out and lifted her up, “The Lord of the Underworld has already apologized to me on your behalf, and I have accepted his apology. How could I wound you again?”
Besides, what about the precious Chimei Pearl Flower he had just received—wouldn’t he have to return it?
“Apology?” The little spirit suddenly perked up with curiosity, “What treasure did my father give you that made you forgive me so easily?”
“It is a Chimei Pearl Flower that can save a person’s life.”
“Chimei Pearl Flower?” The child’s ears pricked up; the name sounded familiar, as if she had heard it somewhere before.
She quickly sheathed the Cang Qiong Hao sword, took off her Qiankun pouch from her waist, turned it upside down, and emptied its contents onto the ground.
With a clattering sound, all manner of items spilled forth—food, drink, toys, and a vast array of medicinal flowers, treasures, and magical artifacts—truly a splendid display.
“Are these the flowers you mean?” the little spirit asked obediently, pointing at the colorful blooms scattered about.
Mo Han stared, speechless and trembling, “Where did you get these herbs?”
Heavens!
Among them were several Chimei Pearl Flowers, as well as Kirin Grass for stopping bleeding and pain, Silver Willow Flowers, Tricolor Pansies for cough and itch relief, Pineworm Grass, the blood-activating and bruise-dissipating Beauty’s Charm, Tongzhi Flowers, and even stranger items—flying devices, explosives, assimilation devices, heavenly thunder instruments, the deadly Blue Sea Sword, Pillow Water, Sunset Blade, Shadow Spear Sword, and ancient sword manuals and spell scriptures with archaic names.
And this was only what he had glanced at and roughly memorized; there were others he hadn’t registered.
So, how much did this little Qiankun pouch hold? And all were rare, precious medicinal herbs and long-lost magical artifacts and treasures.
Did the Lord of the Underworld know about all these priceless items?
The little spirit held the Qiankun pouch with a calm expression, saying, “These were gifts from Lady Meng Po and others, and some I stole from my father.”

“Stolen?!” Mo Han nearly twisted his tongue. Well, no wonder she was the Lord of the Underworld’s daughter—such boldness and daring, even stealing from her own father.
“Yes, my father won’t blame me. Look, is there anything you like? I’ll give you a few pieces.”
“Give me a few pieces?” Mo Han was so shocked he could hardly close his mouth.
So many priceless treasures, just laid out for him to pick and choose, and she wanted to gift him several?
In this day and age, were such treasures really so worthless?
“Mm, have a look.” The little spirit suddenly remembered something and quickly added, “But if you take any treasures, you can no longer wound me; that will settle everything between us.”
Mo Han was tempted by the treasures, but a man must uphold his principles. He had already accepted the Lord of the Underworld’s gift; how could he accept more from the young princess?
Thus, he shook his head resolutely and even stepped back a few paces to distance himself from the treasures, saying, “I cannot accept these gifts. Thank you, young princess.”
“Why not?” The little spirit was puzzled. He had just expressed amazement, clearly liking the treasures, so why refuse now?
“As I said, the Lord of the Underworld has already apologized to me on your behalf, and I have forgiven your mistake today. How can I accept another apology?”
“No, no, no, it’s different. My father’s apology is his own; mine is mine. Besides, it was my father who sent me to apologize to you. You cannot refuse all gifts.”
“Thank you, young princess, but I still—” no, I must decline.
“Then I will choose for you. Since you are injured, these medicinal flowers are for you. Consider it my apology.”
The little spirit emphasized “my” to make clear that her apology was separate from her father’s.
“No,” Mo Han was about to refuse again when the little spirit swiftly packed up everything except the healing medicinal flowers.
“From now on, we owe each other nothing. I hope, great demon, that you will not trouble me again.”
“Rest assured, I would never—”
Before Mo Han could finish, the young princess packed away her Qiankun pouch, summoned the Cang Qiong Hao sword, and swiftly departed on her sword.
Mo Han was left speechless.
Are all the young princesses these days so difficult to manage? Compared to their own young prince, this one was truly in a league of her own.
