Chapter 47 Entering the Peachwood Spring, Drinking Peach Blossom Wine
Outside Hell
Peachwood Source
Little Tuanzi opened her big eyes, gazing at the vast bamboo forest and peach trees, overwhelmed by the expansive environment that felt as if it lay beyond the realm of all things.
"Have we... really come out?"
Hearing the voice, Lu Qing turned her head and glanced at Little Tuanzi’s pitiful expression, smiling. "Tsk, of course it’s real. How could it be fake?"
"Your Highness," Bai Yan approached her and whispered, "I need to check on Han Mo. Will you come with me?"
"I..." Little Tuanzi hesitated, but Lu Qing stepped forward and made the decision for her.
"If she won’t go, I’ll take her around to experience the taste of freedom," Lu Qing said as she inhaled the fresh, pure air filled with vibrant life.
Bai Yan frowned and looked past the little one toward Lu Qing. "Your Highness holds a noble status. Within Peachwood Source, monsters often roam. Can you guarantee her safety?"
"Why not?" Lu Qing stretched out her hand and directly lifted Little Tuanzi up. "She’s descended from the ghost clan, as am I. Monsters have no reason to attack the ghost clan."
"I won’t argue with you," Bai Yan said angrily, shooting him a glance before turning back to Little Tuanzi, softening his tone.
"Your Highness, would you like to come with me to see Han Mo?"
"I already said she’s not going!" Lu Qing decided again, lifting Little Tuanzi by the collar and turning to leave.
"Compared to monsters, your demon clan is far more dangerous, isn’t it?"
Bai Yan was furious. "Your Highness was brought out by us. If anything happens, we cannot avoid responsibility!"
But even if the demons were dangerous, at least Han Mo was there. Ordinary demons wouldn’t dare bully them. Besides, they were only going to see Han Mo and check on his injury, not stay in the demon territory.
In fact, the unfamiliar Peachwood Source was the truly dangerous place.
Yet Lu Qing didn’t listen. He had his own ideas and wanted to take Little Tuanzi for a proper walk through the forest. He hadn’t been out of prison for two million years.
Moreover, he knew Peachwood Source well—much better than the demon territory he had never visited.
But—
Neither of them had properly asked Little Tuanzi what she thought.
Now suspended midair, she turned her head with effort to look at Bai Yan, waved her hand, and forced a smile. "It’s fine, Bai Luobo. I’ll protect myself. You—please hurry to see the Great Serpent. I’ll wait until next time to visit him."
Bai Yan glanced at the time; indeed, it was late. They could only stay out for three hours and could not linger too long.
He nodded. "Alright, then... Your Highness, if anything happens, remember to use the communication bell to contact me. I’ll check on that boy’s injury and return immediately."
"Okay, you go. Say hello to the Great Serpent for me."
Bai Yan quickly vanished.
Within Peachwood Source, only Little Tuanzi and Lu Qing remained.
"Let me go!!" Little Tuanzi struggled to breathe, her face flushed red.
Lu Qing chuckled, turned, and put her down. "So, little brat, how does freedom taste?"
---
Little Tuanzi caught her breath and glared at him. "Terrible. You almost strangled me."
"Hahaha..." Lu Qing laughed heartily. The more he looked at this little brat, the cuter she seemed, especially with her wild purple hair, just like his—radiant and soft.
"This is the freedom you cherish."
Little Tuanzi snorted and led the way deeper into the peach forest. "It’s my kind of freedom, but I’ve experienced freedom before. You, uncle, were trapped in hell for millions of years. Today should be your first time out, right?"
Lu Qing followed her leisurely. "How do you know I was trapped for millions of years?"
"Hmm?" Little Tuanzi suddenly stopped and turned to look at him, puzzled. "Isn’t that right?"
Hadn’t he been imprisoned since the generation of his father, her grandfather?
Many called him an "old monster," as he was tens of thousands of years older than even his lord father.
Lu Qing smiled but said nothing to explain, only offering a vague remark: "Little brat, the freedom I possess far exceeds the freedom you have experienced."
"What?"
Lu Qing strode forward without even looking, clearing a path naturally. "Come on, little brat. I’ll show you the most beautiful place in Peachwood Source."
Little Tuanzi hurried to catch up. "The most beautiful place? How do you know? Why do you know?"
"You’ll find out when we get there."
"Can’t you tell me now?"
Lu Qing shook his head, pretending to be serious. "No, if I told you, it wouldn’t be a surprise."
"Alright," Little Tuanzi decided not to ask further, eager for the surprise.
"How far is it? Which direction is it in? Do you know?"
"Little brat, don’t ask so many questions."
"Okay," Little Tuanzi nodded, jogging to keep pace, panting a bit. "Slow down, I can’t keep up."
"We only have three hours; we must hurry."
"Actually, it’s less than three hours now..."
"Right, two and a half hours left."
Little Tuanzi nodded a few times, clutching his robe and matching his pace, moving faster than before.
They passed through the peach forest, breathing in the fragrant blossoms, and entered the deepest part of Peachwood Source—the Return Valley.
Suddenly, the sky and earth opened wide, as if a grand avenue had been pulled open before their eyes, bright and filled with rosy light. Countless rays illuminated the land, dazzling and magnificent.
"Wow!" Little Tuanzi stood atop the highest point of Peachwood Source, gazing across the entire peach forest, filled with genuine admiration. "It’s so beautiful here."
"Right, little brat? I wasn’t lying," Lu Qing said, finding a safe spot to sit nearby.
Little Tuanzi nodded happily. "Yeah, you can see all of Peachwood Source from here."
---
Lu Qing pulled out a jar of carefully preserved peach blossom wine from his space and, reclining casually, began to drink freely.
"What are you drinking?" Little Tuanzi turned to see him clutching a large black jar, sipping from it.
She didn’t know what it was but found it somewhat fragrant.
"Do you want some?" Lu Qing’s lips curled into a smile at her curiosity.
"Yeah, can I drink it?"
"Sure," Lu Qing’s smile deepened as he conjured a small, clean white bowl and poured it halfway full, handing it to her.
"Here, try it."
Little Tuanzi eagerly reached out and, without hesitation, tilted her head back and gulped it down.
"Little brat?!" The sudden action caught Lu Qing off guard.
He quickly dropped the peach blossom wine and tried to snatch the bowl, only to find it already empty.
Lu Qing: "?!"
"Ah!! It’s so spicy!!" Little Tuanzi’s face contorted, and her body twitched.
"Ugh, this tastes awful."
Lu Qing laughed helplessly. "I added extra medicinal herbs to this wine; it’s not ordinary peach blossom wine."
Little Tuanzi shrank her neck, stuck out her tongue, and judged: "Hmm~ terrible."
Lu Qing shook his head helplessly but looked at her with concern. "You have to sip it slowly. Who knows you’d gulp it all down at once? You think this is tea?"
"How was I supposed to know?" Little Tuanzi’s expression still showed some pain, her eyes full of resentment, almost blaming him.
What kind of awful wine was this? She was already feeling dizzy and her tongue numb.
"Alright, alright, it’s my fault. Do you feel unwell anywhere?"
Little Tuanzi nodded heavily and then staggered a bit. "Yes! A little dizzy."
"What?!" Lu Qing quickly reached out to steady her, shocked by her drunken appearance.
"Could it be, little brat, you’re drunk?"
"Hmm?" Little Tuanzi’s vision blurred, struggling to see clearly. "What... did you say..."
"This is bad," Lu Qing said, headache pressing down as he looked at her drunken state.
It was completely over now.
He had gotten the little princess drunk.
