Chapter Eighteen: Even Your Father’s Position Is Mine to Claim

“Th-the little prince is missing?!”
Startled, the ghost servant Mao Ting finally caught the key words clearly.
How could the little prince be lost?
When did the little prince leave the Heartless Hall? When did he leave the Underworld?
“Shut up.” Meng Po’s eyes were bloodshot as she turned around, her face pale, her gaze sharp and fierce, as if ready to devour someone.
Mao Ting was terrified and quickly stepped back several paces. “M-Meng Po Madam?”
“Why scare him?” Su Qin, who had been silent until now, spoke up at this moment.
She stepped forward, looking at Meng Po kneeling on the ground, speaking indifferently, “If you hadn’t lost the little prince, would he be so furious?”
“This Underworld, since when do you get to lecture me?” Meng Po lifted her head coldly, her bloodshot eyes locking onto Su Qin with a ruthless glare that forbade offense.
Su Qin sneered coldly and turned to leave. “How dare I?”
“But if you fail to find the little prince, your position as Meng Po is finished.”
“Hmph.” Meng Po smiled coldly with an elegant disdain. Even kneeling on the floor, her noble bearing and exquisite appearance remained undiminished.
“When you truly become the Queen of the Underworld, then come and speak to me like this.”
Su Qin, just outside the great hall, froze upon hearing these words. An overwhelming tide of resentment and anger surged within her, only to crystallize into a low, cold sneer as she walked away.
Even if she isn’t the Queen of the Underworld yet, so what?
That position will be hers sooner or later.
...
Snake Clan Underground Palace
After midnight
Little Tuanzi waited a long time, but no one came out. She just sat on the floor covered with a furry carpet, leaning against the table legs, eventually falling asleep.
While she was sound asleep, Han Mo changed his clothes and stepped out.
He wore a long robe dyed black like ink with dragon claw patterns, tied at the waist with a jade belt of the same ink-black color. His long hair, like flowing ink, draped over his shoulders, with half of it pinned up by a silver snake-head hairpin, revealing a noble, full forehead.
At a glance, he stood tall and commanding—majestic and handsome, with fair and elegant features, a unique and noble temperament that exuded refined grace in every gesture.
“Father...” A soft whisper caught his attention.
Han Mo followed the voice and saw the little pink ball—who had been scalded by hot water earlier—now slumped like a wilted flower, asleep on the floor.
“You little brat!” He frowned and took a step forward.
He wondered if she had heard his voice, but she was so sound asleep she showed no reaction.
“Little brat, get up.” He raised his voice a notch and even reached out to pinch her chubby little face.
Soft and squishy, like a giant steamed bun from the mortal realm—obedient and without a single prickly spot.
His voice involuntarily softened, but he still scolded, “You little brat, you fell asleep just like that in no time.”
Page 2/3
Sleeping so soundly even in the Underworld—would she really be able to sleep like this?
But now she was outside, with strangers she’d only known for less than five hours, yet she wasn’t afraid?
“Father...” she murmured again, this time more pitiful and aggrieved, like a homeless little beast abandoned in the wilderness with no one to care for her.
“Yuan’er is so scared, father...”
Han Mo’s hand near her face curled up suddenly, and he scoffed lowly, “Now you’re scared?”
Who was so arrogant just now, demanding he take her to find the Snow Lotus Pearl?
“Father, Yuan’er wants to go home...” Little Tuanzi twisted her face away, trying to crawl under the table.
Han Mo bent down, about to speak, when suddenly her little head sank toward the floor.
His reflexes sharp, he quickly reached under the table, caught her head, and cursed, “Damn it.”
This little brat was really hard to handle.
He gave a faint, cold smile.
Calling him “father” like this, yet no father appeared—this little brat was clearly unloved.
Otherwise, why hadn’t a single person come to look for her all this time?
What Han Mo didn’t know was that outside, the Lord of the Underworld was going nearly mad searching for this little brat.
After ascending to the Ninth Heaven, Yan Yi immediately drew his weapon and demanded they hand over the child, or he would raze the Ninth Heaven, leaving them with no burial place.
Hearing this, Prince Yu Heng sneered coldly, “Your little ghost prince is missing, yet you come to the Immortal Clan? Does the Lord of the Underworld want to start a war between the two clans to vie for the top of the Five Clans?”
“Prince Yu Heng, your joke is ill-timed. I have never cared for the top of the Five Clans.”
Prince Yu Heng’s expression darkened, staring at him coldly. “What does the Lord of the Underworld mean by this?”
Yan Yi turned and left. “You’d better pray she’s safe. Otherwise, I will stir up chaos in the Ninth Heaven and make it a place of unrest.”
After all, if not for their fault, Yuan’er would never have been lost.
So this debt must be charged to the Ninth Heaven.
Meanwhile, the Ghost Clan had searched all night for the little brat, who at this moment...
Was sleeping soundly.
Han Mo lifted Little Tuanzi from under the table and carried her into his chamber. Despite all the noise, she didn’t wake.
He thought perhaps he owed this little brat from a past life.
“Father!” Suddenly awake as she landed on the bed, Miao Yuan grabbed the arm in front of her, her violet eyes wide open, staring at the person.
Han Mo’s face darkened as he glared at her, teeth clenched. “Do I look like your father to you?”
This damned little brat had been calling him “father” all night.
Now, she still treated him as such—she was brazen and presumptuous beyond measure.
“You… you are the Great Snake?” Miao Yuan withdrew her small hand immediately, her eyes clearing with realization.

Han Mo glanced at the small hand he still held on his arm, his expression turning cold. “What, disappointed I’m not your father?”
Little Tuanzi looked at him puzzled but dared not offend, softly humming, “My father will find me.”
“Then why don’t you go find your father?”
“I told you, I want to find the Snow Lotus Pearl!”
Han Mo ignored her and said, “It’s late now. The Snow Lotus Pearl must have withered long ago. You should wait until tomorrow.”
“Then I’ll wait until tomorrow.” Little Tuanzi snorted coldly, then sat on his bed, claiming the spot like a conqueror, “I want to sleep here tonight. You take me to find the Snow Lotus Pearl tomorrow.”
He looked down on her, smiling softly. “You’re quite the planner. If you sleep here, where will I sleep?”
“Hmm...” Little Tuanzi eyed the bed, then compared it to his size, smiling happily.
She rolled onto the bed, leaving the outside spot for him. “You sleep here, I’m smaller—I’ll just take a little space. Once dawn breaks, I’ll leave and won’t trouble you anymore, okay?”
Han Mo: “...”
This is his bed—why should he yield?
Taking only a little space and promising no trouble—her little mouth sure was clever.
Had she forgotten how much trouble she’d caused so far?
Seeing he stayed silent with a stern face, Little Tuanzi stood awkwardly, about to get off the bed, whispering, “Then... I’ll let you sleep here. I’ll sleep on the floor.”
“Wait,” Han Mo reached out and grabbed her small arm, feeling a headache. “You sleep here, I’ll sleep outside.”
After all, there was more than one bed in the underground palace.
She’s small, so she should have it.
Little Tuanzi’s eyes widened with joy, looking at him happily. “Really? You’re giving it all to me?”
This Great Snake is so kind?!
Not like his usual behavior at all!
Han Mo gritted his teeth and nodded. “Yes, all for you.”
He feared he wouldn’t get a good night’s rest anyway, better to leave.
“Thank you.” Little Tuanzi stood obediently and gave him a charming, lovely smile.
You wouldn’t think it, but this Great Snake was quite good—respectful and kind to the young and old.
“N-no, thank you.” Han Mo turned and left, walking briskly out of the chamber.
He feared staying any longer would make him lose his temper.
This little brat...
