Chapter 9: Defying Fate, Reshaping the Supreme Heart
Han Fengchen had left, yet Jiang Yueli remained resentful. She glared at his retreating figure, muttering a few curses under her breath before turning to Li Tianyuan and bowing respectfully.
“Master, I was reckless just now. Please punish me.”
“Haha, it’s alright!” Li Tianyuan smiled and waved his hand dismissively. He spoke calmly, “He’s nothing but a petty clown causing a fuss. People like him exist everywhere; don’t take it to heart.”
“Let them prance about for now. When the time comes for us to trample them underfoot, that’s when it will truly feel satisfying!”
Regarding the wager with Han Fengchen, Li Tianyuan was entirely unconcerned. After all, if he couldn’t handle a mere Lesser Qing Peak, then his reputation would be worthless.
“Hmm, Master,” Jiang Yueli nodded, partly understanding.
Given her past temperament, she would usually silently endure such cold remarks. After all, she had long been accustomed to the sneers and jeers within the Jiang family. But the arrogant demeanor displayed by the other party just now was unbearable—and to dare disrespect her master was what finally set her off.
Li Tianyuan smiled without further comment and led Jiang Yueli to the registration office to complete her induction into the sect. After receiving her identity token, they returned directly to Lingyun Sword Peak.
“Master, is this Lingyun Sword Peak?” Jiang Yueli asked, surveying the mountain. Though abundant in spiritual energy, it appeared desolate and barren.
“That’s right,” Li Tianyuan nodded, heading toward the main hall while speaking. “Since you’ve become my disciple, I’ll tell you about Lingyun Sword Peak.”
“Lingyun Sword Peak is one of the thirty-six peaks in the Holy Land. Due to certain reasons, only you and I remain here. You are my first and only disciple.”
Only two people on the entire mountain?
Earlier, Jiang Yueli had heard from Han Fengchen at the Holy Academy that Lingyun Sword Peak had declined, but she had not grasped the full extent until now.
“Then why haven’t you taken in more disciples?” she asked curiously.
Li Dao Ran smiled, “I have always believed in fate when accepting disciples. Not everyone qualifies to be my student. Over the years, only you have been destined. If it weren’t so, I wouldn’t have made an exception for you.”
So that was the reason!
Hearing Li Tianyuan’s profound words, Jiang Yueli suddenly realized her fortune—she had become her master’s very first disciple.
---
Li Tianyuan smiled and continued, “As a disciple of Lingyun Sword Peak, there aren’t many rules. You only need to remember two things.”
“Please, Master, I’m all ears!” Jiang Yueli said earnestly.
“Rise straight up like the soaring clouds, never hesitate to move forward. Do whatever your heart desires without being bound by rules.”
“And remember this above all: no matter what challenges you face, I will always stand behind you as your support!”
Li Tianyuan’s tone was gentle, but it stirred something deep within Jiang Yueli.
No matter what happens, Master will always back me up!
A warm current flooded through her body. Clenching her fist, she looked up at her master’s expectant gaze and nodded firmly.
Yet, her expression soon clouded with a hint of sorrow as she recalled her physical condition.
Her master cared for her so deeply, but in her current state, she feared she would disappoint him.
“Disciple, what’s troubling you? Are you worried about your health?” Li Tianyuan’s keen eyes caught the fleeting shadow on her face.
“Yes,” she admitted. “I won’t hide it from you! My condition is worse than the elders say—not just a congenital defect or blood deficiency. I’m afraid I will fail to meet your expectations.”
Jiang Yueli sighed softly. Over the years, no matter how hard she tried to cultivate, her body hindered her progress, making advancement painfully slow.
Reaching the third level of Qi Refinement was the result of her long struggle.
“Don’t be discouraged,” Li Tianyuan said calmly. “It’s only that your exquisite supreme heart was damaged, and your fortune taken. It’s nothing insurmountable. As long as your spirit remains intact, you can defy fate and rewrite your destiny!”
“Master, how do you know about my condition?” Jiang Yueli’s heart shook. It was hard to imagine her master was so powerful, knowing secrets only a few in the Jiang family were aware of.
Li Tianyuan smiled faintly. “Since I’ve accepted you as my disciple, I naturally know your situation.”
“So you need not worry. I will help you defy fate and rebuild your supreme heart.”
Help me defy fate and rebuild my supreme heart!
Jiang Yueli was stunned.
---
How could that be possible?
She knew her condition all too well—her constitution was damaged, her fortune stolen.
Without those legendary, heaven-defying spiritual artifacts, there was no viable way to heal.
Could it be that her master truly possessed those mythical treasures? Otherwise, how could he say he could help her reconstruct her supreme heart?
“Ma… Master, is what you say true?” Jiang Yueli’s voice trembled as she looked at him in disbelief.
“Of course it’s true. You are my disciple, and I will help you mend your flaws. More than that, one day you will transcend mortals, become a great power of your generation, and even attain the path of the great emperor!”
Li Tianyuan’s expression was calm, as if he were discussing some trivial matter.
With the system at hand, all of this was easy.
Just imagine raising a female emperor—that would be a truly magnificent achievement!
Jiang Yueli’s mind went blank. She stood rooted to the spot, stunned and unable to move.
The shock was overwhelming; she could hardly believe it.
“Foolish girl, is what I said so hard to understand?” Li Tianyuan was visibly displeased with her reaction—very displeased!
Normally, upon hearing such words, Jiang Yueli should have been like those in novels—
Excitedly grabbing hold of his leg, exclaiming how handsome, majestic, and awesome her master was.
Why was she still standing there, dumbfounded?
Apparently, the shock wasn’t strong enough yet!
Thinking this, Li Tianyuan stopped teasing and directly summoned from his system space the Nine-Turn Vitality Pill, the Phoenix Essence, and the Supreme Phoenix Blood.
With a grand sweep of his hand, he placed them before Jiang Yueli.
Immediately, the entire room was filled with the rich fragrance of herbs and a tremendous surge of energy burst forth.
