Jinxiu Community, Building B, Unit 3, Apartment 606.

A young couple sat hurriedly in front of a computer, swiftly clicking the mouse and typing on the keyboard.

“Stop just looting; the toxic zone is shrinking. Get in the car quickly.”

“I still have three medkits left. Do you have any extras? Share a few with me.”

The man had a curly mop of hair, wore glasses, a white tank top, and patterned shorts, thin as a monkey.

The woman had a high ponytail, an oval face, dressed in pale pink pajamas, her figure slightly plump.

Suddenly, a loud pounding came from the door. The bespectacled man glanced at the time in the lower right corner of the screen and asked, “Honey, did you order delivery?”

“No, I’ve been dieting and haven’t had any late-night snacks for days. Wait, someone’s in the apartment across the hall!”

Distracted, the ponytailed woman was suddenly ambushed by a player hiding in the shadows; she was taken down without even a chance to heal. Frustrated, she slammed the mouse down and cursed as she went to open the door.

“Knocking at this hour? Are you crazy?”

As soon as the door opened, her curse abruptly stopped, and she took two fearful steps back.

“Zhao Chen? Why is it you? Weren’t you dead in northern Myanmar?”

“You obviously wanted me dead there, so you could take over my apartment, right?”

Zhao Chen sneered coldly as he stepped inside, surveying the living room’s decor. Suddenly, a man’s angry voice came from the bedroom.

“Damn! This idiot is definitely cheating. I’m reporting him!”

Zhao Chen recognized the voice instantly, and the man called out, “Honey, who’s at the door?”

A familiar face appeared, wearing slippers.

Their eyes met, and Zhao Chen’s fury ignited instantly.

This man was none other than his college roommate and the very person who had deceived him into northern Myanmar—Sun Liang.

“Damn it! Zhao Chen, you…”

Sun Liang’s face changed drastically. Nervously, he stepped backward, forcing a sheepish smile. “How did you come back? Xiao Tong and I have been trying to save you, but we never got any news. I just…”

“You married that slut, didn’t you? Bought my wedding apartment for twenty thousand yuan, right?”

Zhao Chen clenched his fists tightly and strode forward.

“Zhao Chen, listen to me! I was tricked too. Ah! Don’t hit me, I was wrong, Brother Zhao. For Xiao Tong’s sake… ah!”

“You think you can still fool me?”

Zhao Chen unleashed a barrage of punches on Sun Liang’s body and face, venting two years’ worth of pent-up rage.

He never imagined this bastard would not only sell him out to the snakeheads but also stab him in the back repeatedly, seizing his wedding apartment—all after Zhao Chen had treated him so well.

Back in college, Sun Liang was addicted to online games, spending all his allowance on skins, starving three days and nine meals.

The others in the dorm didn’t like him and never shared their food. Seeing his plight, Zhao Chen always brought him steamed buns from the cafeteria and bought him pickles and chili sauce.

Even after graduation, when Sun Liang couldn’t find a job, Zhao Chen lent him money to help him through tough times.

Who would have thought this dog would repay kindness with betrayal, stabbing him again and again.

Li AnTong, shocked and frightened, grabbed Zhao Chen’s arm and shouted, “Stop! He’s my husband now. If you hit him again, I’ll call the police!”

Mentioning this only enraged Zhao Chen more. He shook her off fiercely and cursed, “Get lost, shameless bitch! How dare you say that? Didn’t you conspire with Sun Liang to trap me in northern Myanmar and then take over my apartment?”

He had endured so much pain, suffered countless beatings over these two years!

Yet they had taken advantage of his misfortune, buying his parents’ wedding gift apartment at a low price, playing games there every day.

If killing wasn’t against the law, Zhao Chen truly wished he could skin this couple alive, piece by piece!

Li AnTong, weighing just over a hundred pounds, couldn’t hold back Zhao Chen’s fury. She was thrown to the ground and stayed down for a long time.

Furious, she yelled, “You’re only realizing this now? I thought you’d died in northern Myanmar. It’s a blessing from heaven that they didn’t kill you.”

“Sure enough, you two scoundrels are in cahoots,” Zhao Chen raised his fist, hesitating for a moment before lowering it.

With his current strength, he could easily kill a bull with his bare hands.

Sun Liang was already bleeding heavily from the beating, gasping for breath.

If he hurt Li AnTong any further, Zhao Chen would definitely end up in jail.

His parents had waited so long for his return; he couldn’t afford another accident.

Mistaking Zhao Chen’s hesitation for fear, Li AnTong defiantly shouted, “We didn’t take your apartment. This wedding apartment was always half mine, and the other half was bought by Sun Liang. It’s already registered under both our names at the property bureau. What does that have to do with you?”

“Heh, how dare you say that?” Zhao Chen said coldly. “My parents bought this apartment. Your name was just added to the deed. You didn’t pay a single cent, and we aren’t even married. Why should you have half?”

“Because you wanted to marry me. I was your girlfriend for three and a half years. You think I’m just some free ride?” Li AnTong said matter-of-factly. “Now you’ve beaten my husband like this, I’m calling the police to have you arrested and make you pay medical bills!”

As she reached for her phone, Zhao Chen kicked her in the back, his voice icy, “You shameless bitch, thinking you can buy an apartment worth over three hundred thousand yuan with twenty thousand? Even half that’s not enough. And you have the nerve to call the cops on me? Who gave you the guts?”

“Try hitting me again, see if I don’t call for help.”

Li AnTong staggered from the kick, turning to glare at Zhao Chen furiously.

At that moment, Sun Liang, lying on the floor, barely conscious, whispered, “Honey, call the police, get him arrested…”

Seeing that this bastard still had the nerve to call the police, Zhao Chen strode back, grabbed him up with one hand.

“Sun Liang, I never treated you badly. Why did you do this to me? Do you think honest people are easy to bully?”

“Heh, you’re the idiot,” Sun Liang forced a grim smile, blood foaming at the corner of his mouth. “You were nice to me, but that was your choice. I never begged you for steamed buns. As for borrowing your money, I earned it on my own. Idiots like you deserve to be used and betrayed.”

“Good. You said that yourself.”

A terrifying gleam flashed in Zhao Chen’s eyes. Next, this treacherous couple would pay the most painful price for their deeds!
