Bai Lu was wholeheartedly focused on thanking Bai Qianzhou. She went downstairs to have someone prepare the meal, so that Bai Qianzhou could eat as soon as he woke up, completely unaware of the other surprise Pei Hexuan had mentioned.

Three hours later, Pei Hexuan stared at the expedited paternity test report in his hand, his fingers trembling slightly.

After searching for more than a decade, he had finally found her!

Holding the paternity test, he hurried to the kitchen where Bai Lu was helping prepare the meal.

“Wife,” he called softly and tenderly, his voice tinged with nervousness.

“Hm?” Bai Lu turned her head, puzzled to see Pei Hexuan at the kitchen door.

“There’s something I want to tell you, but you have to stay calm, alright?”

“What is it? You seem so serious,” Bai Lu said as she wiped her hands and walked over.

Pei Hexuan’s lips curled into a slight smile as he handed her the paternity report.

Bai Lu flipped through the document with a puzzled expression, her gaze fixed on the final result.

Test result: Based on the available data and DNA analysis, Bai Lu is confirmed as the biological mother of Bai Qianzhou.

“Bai Qianzhou?” she murmured softly, her heart pounding like a drum, tears unknowingly welling up in her eyes.

“Yes, Bai Qianzhou is your biological daughter. I found her,” he said.

“Is she really my daughter?” Bai Lu’s voice trembled slightly, a mixture of excitement and anxiety swirling within her.

“Yes, the paternity test is right there in your hands. Do you still not believe it?” Pei Hexuan gazed at her gently.

“Bai Qianzhou.” As she spoke the name, Bai Lu’s tears burst forth like a dam breaking, streaming uncontrollably down her cheeks.

“Where... where is she? I want to see her,” Bai Lu said urgently, clutching Pei Hexuan’s arm, her voice shaking with anticipation.

“Wife, don’t get too excited just yet. The little master who saved you—that’s Bai Qianzhou.”

“So, the little master is my daughter? My daughter saved me?” Bai Lu’s voice quivered as she stared blankly at Pei Hexuan, disbelief shining in her eyes.

Pei Hexuan nodded gently, confirming her words.

Eager to see Bai Qianzhou, Bai Lu turned but stumbled slightly, nearly falling. Pei Hexuan quickly reached out and steadied her.

“Husband, I... I want to see her,” Bai Lu said, her voice trembling with hope and excitement.

“Alright, I’ll support you. But you must control your emotions; don’t scare her.”

Carefully, he helped Bai Lu as they slowly walked toward their bedroom.

Inside the room, Bai Qianzhou lay in a deep sleep. Sunlight filtered softly through the curtains, casting a golden glow over this serene moment.

Bai Lu and Pei Hexuan sat quietly beside the bed, watching her.

“Don’t you think she looks a lot like you, especially in her brow?” Pei Hexuan asked Bai Lu, gazing at Bai Qianzhou.

“How could I have been so foolish? My daughter was right in front of me, and I never noticed,” Bai Lu whispered, gently wiping away her tears, her heart heavy with regret and sorrow.

“It’s okay. From now on, we have plenty of time to make it up to her,” Pei Hexuan said, pulling her into his embrace.

It seemed Bai Qianzhou sensed the two pairs of eyes staring intently at her. Suddenly, she opened her eyes wide.

Seeing Pei Hexuan and Bai Lu sitting by her bedside, she sat up hastily, nervously clutching the blanket around herself.

“What do you want?” Bai Qianzhou asked, her eyes flickering with wariness.

“Zhou... no, little master, I—I—I...” Bai Lu looked at Bai Qianzhou’s guarded expression, unable to find the words.

Pei Hexuan smiled faintly and handed the paternity report to Bai Qianzhou. She lowered her head to look at it, her face revealing a complex expression.

“Why did you do a paternity test when everything was fine?” she asked.

“Didn’t you say so yourself?” Pei Hexuan replied calmly.

“What did I say?” Bai Qianzhou thought for a moment. She didn’t recall saying anything.
